all the highs and lows through my journey!
  2. Week one

    image.jpgIMG_3951.jpgIMG_3966.jpgIMG_3956.jpg
After so many years of being unhappy with my teeth I'm finally starting this journey. I went to a few different orthodontists and they all told me that in order to have braces I'd have to have surgery on both my upper and lower jaw. The oral surgeons I saw we're great, but one, who was a former client of mine seven I used to cut hair, told me I shouldn't go through with the surgery. ...

  3. So it begins... Tray 1

    Hello everyone!

    Quick summary:
25U and 25L, 19 attachments and one elastic (hate this!)

    Some history:
I had fixed braces done when I was a teen (more than ten years ago), and because of crowding on the upper jaw, at that time my dentist extracted a right premolar. But due to the imbalance, my mid-line shifted considerably to the right. Since then, there has been some relapse and my front teeth are protruding more than I'd like.

    When consulting ...

  4. Counting down the days!!

After years of wanting/needing braces, I've finally sat down looked at my expenses and I am now starting treatment on July 29th!!
I am sooo excited! I'm 19 and have quite bad crowded teeth due to a narrow jaw. I'm only getting my top teeth done has they are my main issue when I smile and all I can manage to afford right now. I had my consultation with my orthodontist today and I have decided to go with the clear ones, I'm a bit worried about the staining that they may possibly cause so if ...
  5. My Vizzys - Day 1

    Hello All,

I found the blog/discussions to be really helpful for me so I figured I "owed" some posts of my own. I received my first two trays today. So far so good. I was the first at my orth's office to get my trays since they started using the iTero scanner. The assistant was really impressed with how well my trays fit. She said it was a significant improved over how the trays fit using the molds. I have 35 trays U/L with 7 attachments. Attachments will go on with tray ...

  6. Getting to this point

I am five days away from getting my Invisalign trays and starting what is sure to be a crazy, but rewarding, journey. It's weird, being 26 years old (ugh, but 27 in 2 days...) and telling people I am off to the orthodontist and I'm getting braces. So, I'm thinking back to the road I've been on.

I remember when I was in 6th grade and my friends started getting braces. Somehow it was cool... and it was even cooler to see them get taken off in 8th grade, and these friends of mine ...
  7. Enjoying last few days with free teeth :-)

by , 04-29-2013 at 05:32 PM (Invisalign experience)
Well, in 4 days I'll be invisaligned for, at least, the next two years. My journey started in february when I went to my dentist asking for a solution for my missing molar that causes me to use only half part of my mouth for chewing. After the dentist have studied my molds and rx he told me I could choose two options: implant after braces for the uprighting of the teeth that had reclined and rotated in the mean while (I miss my molar more than 20 years ago) or only braces to definetly close the ...

  8. Pre Invisalign - Incisor Extraction

Finally decided to get my invisalign!
Went to a few consultations and I was advised that due to my bottom row crowding, a lower incisor will need to be extracted! 2 months ago I got all 4 of my wisdom teeth taken out.

So on April 12th, I got my lower incisor extracted and was terrified cause the gap was pretty substantial! Waited a week for it to recocer to start my first tray!

I have attched the starting a ending clinchecks!

  9. 2nd time getting braces...yikes!

Ok...sooo....yesterday I got braces for the 2nd time! I had them once when I was 8 years old due to the fact that I had a TERRIBLE underbite, and now (8 years later) lol I have them AGAIN! My bottom jaw grew which made my teeth go slightly back but not too dramatically, my teeth are close to resting on top of each other but not exactly there.

Anyway, in 2 weeks they're going to set me up with an expander AGAIN! & I was just wondering since my top teeth are already perfectly straight...is ...
  10. New to Invisalign

Hello everyone, this is my 1st full day with Invisalign. My biggest problem is taking them off and putting back on. The initial pain is terrible but goes away quickly. I have 19 uppers and 20 lowers. So wish me luck.

  11. "Before" Picture

As requested, I'm adding a picture in. I didn't have the foresight to actually take a true before picture, so the one here will have to do (it was taken today, so it's actually day 12). The thing supposedly pushing the limits of Invisalign are the top canine teeth. Apparently, Invisalign isn't really meant for pulling teeth down that far, but I don't know for sure (just going off of what the orthodontist said). Also, I have learned that my teeth are much more yellow and ugly up close (most definitely ...

  12. Making Space!

So, here I am, at nearly 30, and starting my journey to get a metal mouth. I am actually scared BUT at the same time very excited to get the process started.

Basically, I have had initial orthodontist appointments, xrays, impressions made, more xrays and a clean at the dentist. I have been told I need 5 teeth out, both lower 5's and both upper 5's and one wisdom tooth on the top left which has came through. I have a wisdom tooth on the top right which is impacted and near my sinus. ...
  13. Fastbraces, Finally!

[SIZE=3][SIZE=4][FONT=Fixedsys][FONT=Lucida Console][FONT=Trebuchet MS][SIZE=2][SIZE=2]Ok, so I'm 25 and finally getting braces! While researching braces I stumbled across "fastbraces".. After looking into it, it sounded amazing!! Half the time.. 3 months- a year of braces! After going to my consultation, I found out my overbite would require jaw surgery... But I went ahead and decided to get the braces, because I mostly cared about my teeth being straight and would be perfectly happy ...

  14. First week of Invisalign!

    Hey guys,

I am totally newbie to this forum, but I thought it would be cool to share my experience with having braces. First a little background... I'm a 24 year old guy and I've been meaning to get braces for as long as I can remember. Due to frequent moving and financial constraints, orthodontic treatment was never a feasible option for me/my parents. After I got my first full time job, I decided to take the plunge and get braces.

After months of researching and ...
  15. And the journey starts!

Hello! Just a FYI before reading this post will probably be the longest post I ever have. Ok so I got my first set of Invisalign trays on Thursday Dec 13 2012. So far it hasn't been as bad as I was expecting. I have 12 attachments 6 on my lower teeth and 6 on my upper. I was given 3 sets of trays so I wont be back to Ortho until the end of Jan. Each tray is to be worn for two weeks. They shaved in between my teeth to give them room to move around (completely painless) but now it seems like everything ...
