  1. Vivera Retainers

Hi guys! (If you're still all here!)

I updated you a few months ago telling you that i lost my retainer somewhere in the middle of Australia.

We'll i've replaced them with vivera...The original essix style i had did its job wonderfully, but rather bulky compared to invisalign like i was used to.

So i shelled out money to "upgrade" to the vivera.

I've had them for a few days, initially with the test fit at the ortho it was rather ...

Nearing the end... slowly but surely! I can't believe that next Tuesday will mark ONE YEAR in Invisalign!!!!

So I had my checkup this past Tuesday. It was a little different, because my usual assistant was gone (on vacation), I was in a different chair, and the original orthodontist saw me (versus the newer one, who saw me the last two times). I got that attachment off (whoo! that tooth feels SO smooth), and a little bit of IPR (though that was SHORT and sweet! Apparently there ...

  3. All done, well almost (:

Got all my attachments off and they used the itero to rescan my mouth for refinements. Although I canít wait to get more trays so that my teeth can be absolutely perfect, I must admit it feels so nice to have my teeth back. Literally sliding my tongue against my teeth feels so good. I go back in four weeks but as of now only have to technically wear my trays for 12 hours a day. Relief. So happy with results so far especially in such a short time. So I donít mind refinements. Yay. Almost there.

I feel like I haven't been on this site much lately, partly due to life and partly due to the malware hacking that gave me some trojans on my computer (which thankfully were taken care of before any damage, from what I can tell... but how crazy! Who'd want to hack a website about teeth anyway??!!)

Anyway, I switched to Tray 25 last Tuesday night. A little soreness but not much. I really think the chewies help a lot with the pain and settling my teeth in, so the gap isn't looking ...

  5. 10 Month and 1 week with a brace

Soooo 7 Months and 3 weeks to go until brace off, argh!

Getting so close...yet so far lol.

Excited about getting my brace taken off, it's preventing me from going to a new job, I really want to return to being a Nanny, I work in childcare right now and I feel stuck in that job, purely because I don't want to go for interviews with a geeky brace lol. But I will stick it out and possibly I'll just be brave enough to go for an interview if I do find the perfect replacement ...

  6. Helloooo!

    Hi guys,

I thought i'd pop in and have a looksie at what you're all doing. It seems like you've all lost motivation and just wanting for it to be over! Understandable.

So i thought i'd make a blog to cheer you all up with some fresh material on here.

We'll start with my teeth, since thats how i got here in the first place. On the 20th of October marks 8 months being done with invisalign. Can you believe that? I cant. I have an appointment on the 21st ...

I changed my top tray Tuesday night. Not too much pain the next day, though some soreness of course. The tray is getting easier to take off around that lateral incisor with the attachment (that comes off after Tray 25, yay!).

It's hard to really see changes right now, though I can kind of see where my four front teeth are moving forward, and after that attachment comes off, those four teeth will move back into place. Well, if they move according to plan anyway :)

  8. Refinement 5. Been a while!

I've skipped posting for quite a while, so just thought I'd throw up a quick update. I'm now on 5/13 of my refinements. Things are slow and steady. I guess if I'd have kept up my original habit of taking pictures, I might see some more things going on. I can definitely feel the changes though, and am starting to see things moving into their 'refined' alignment.

Most of the movement so far has been continued widening at the back, and some modest outward tipping of premolars, so it's ...
  9. Tray 14

I had an orth appointment this morning. Today was the day I was supposed to switch to tray 15. However, my lateral incisors are not tracking correctly so I will be wearing tray 14 for another week and then wearing the next 4 trays for 10 days instead of 7 days. If things aren't tracking properly at my next appointment I will be getting new scans. Pretty bummed to have gotten off track and having to increase my wear time. I am going to try using the chewies a lot more and see if I can't get things ...

Yesterday, I had my orthodontist appointment. My boyfriend was still visiting (I had a 4-day weekend) so he went with me, though waited in the waiting room when I went back. But that must've been the longest I've had to sit in the waiting room! Not counting the first appointment, the appointment I had IPR done, or the last appointment which added an attachment - they only take 10 minutes, tops. I guess the assistant was busy with someone else when I arrived? Well, my boyfriend and I got to ...

  11. I've been bad...

I haven't been on here in so long and forgot how much I loved it!

I'm on tray 14 of 14 Upper and 16 Lowers and am 100% positive I am going to need refinements. I'll post some pics and you'll see why. The progress is great, but I am definitely not done yet.

I've gotten used to the elastics, but hate the fact that if I didn't have them, I'd be able to go upper tray free for 8+ hours a day since I am done with the uppers after Friday. But since I need to wear my elastics, ...
  12. Tray one and tray six comparison

It's not much but wanted to upload my tray one and tray six comparison. I change again on 9/5.

  13. Tray 17 - Good/Not-so-good

by , 08-27-2013 at 04:28 PM (My Invisalign Journey (aka my 2nd time around with braces))
I haven't been able to post an update since Tray 15. There has been so much going on at home. Unfortunately, my father-in-law passed away. He was taken to the emergency room with heart failure right after I posted my last blog post. He was in the hospital for 2 weeks, but there was nothing further they could do for him, so he was sent to hospice. He made a wonderful rebound while he was there and had more energy than I've seen him have in months, which was wonderful. We got to spend a great ...

Life has been busy, so I didn't get to post an update sooner. I changed trays (no, TRAY, gotta remember it's singular now) last Tuesday night. A little soreness but not bad. There is still a gap between the bottom of one of my central incisors and the tray, but oh well. It doesn't look worse, at least.

    Here's my top teeth now:

And a reminder of my top teeth (well and bottoms too) before:

  15. I don't even know how to feel about this...

My orthodontist just passed away. Literally the worst news I have ever heard. Not only was he super nice and hilarious but he was the best invisalign orthodontist in the northeast, if not in the united states. I donít even know how to reaact to this. Iím on tray 30 of 35 and who knows if Iíll need refinements. But I donít want anyone to touch my mouth but him): Iím paying 7,000 dollars for him because he is the best. They said weíd all continue receiving great care but Iím probably going to vomit/cry ...
