  1. Well, it sure has been a while...

Hey guys, sorry I flaked out for the last 2(ish) years. It's been pretty crazy, but I figure you all deserve an update and anything that I have to offer.

First off, I've completed all of my 45 original trays and just went to number 20 of 32 in my refinement set. The process has been significantly shortened by my decision to start using the Acceledent system in November of 2013. That said, as I'm coming down the home stretch, I can't really imagine not having my trays in all day. ...
  2. Tray 4-refinements

On tray four of my refinements. My teeth hurt, so it must be working. I have to admit, refinements aren't as fun as the original treatment was. At the beginning I could notice the slightest improvements but not I barely can tell anything, aside from the slight pain. At the end of the month I go to get my 6th tray plus a few more. I'm not sure if I'll get more IPRs or what. I can't believe I have a whole year more of this. So strange. My teeth were so bad before and I had 35 trays and now that they're ...
  3. I don't even know how to feel about this...

My orthodontist just passed away. Literally the worst news I have ever heard. Not only was he super nice and hilarious but he was the best invisalign orthodontist in the northeast, if not in the united states. I donít even know how to reaact to this. Iím on tray 30 of 35 and who knows if Iíll need refinements. But I donít want anyone to touch my mouth but him): Iím paying 7,000 dollars for him because he is the best. They said weíd all continue receiving great care but Iím probably going to vomit/cry ...
  4. Tray 25(:

Can't believe I am already on tray 25. Wow time really does fly. In two weeks I go in for a few more attachments (on my front teeth, etc) and get five more trays. Only ten more to go! This is crazy. I couldn't be happier. I know I'll need refinements but the progress I've seen already is more than enough to be grateful for. Can't wait to see what they look like after the last set, never mind after refinements.

  5. Getting to this point

I am five days away from getting my Invisalign trays and starting what is sure to be a crazy, but rewarding, journey. It's weird, being 26 years old (ugh, but 27 in 2 days...) and telling people I am off to the orthodontist and I'm getting braces. So, I'm thinking back to the road I've been on.

I remember when I was in 6th grade and my friends started getting braces. Somehow it was cool... and it was even cooler to see them get taken off in 8th grade, and these friends of mine ...
  6. Invisalign - Tray 2

On May 3rd, I got my 2nd tray in.

    Comfort Level
Hmm so even with my Tray 2, its not hurting per say. I was only feeling a bit of pressure when I first put them in. Its the 3rd day now and I dont feel the pressure at all anymore. Ive asked if this is normal, they said it is because the majority of the movement occurs during the 2nd half of my treatment, which is around Tray 10 (I have 22 Trays in total). As awkward as this sounds, Im Kind of anxious to feel some ...
  7. Invisalign - Tray 1

On April 19th, I got my first tray in!
I have a total of 18 Upper and 22 Lower (4 attachments). I started with my lowers and 2 months later I will start my uppers.

    Comfort Level
For some reason I dont feel much pain with the aligners on. I wish I did so that I know its working. Taking the aligners off is a pain though cause it feel like I am about to break them. This is my 4th day and I see that the inside layer is kind of peeling. Definitely need to call tmr ...

  8. Tray 3- Week 2

I am coming up on my 6 week check up this Friday, march 29. I am at tray 3, week 2 and am at the point where about 2 days in, all tightness is pretty much gone. I haven't noticed any changes with the bite or anything and am looking forward to checking out my next 3 trays when I get them on Friday. I am expecting 2 more attachments soon (am at 8 currently since day 1).

And unfortUnately, I still have a pesky lisp. :( but have lost about 8 pounds and have little to no discomfort. ...

  9. Tray 2

I started tray 2 last Friday, but after the initial shock of 'holy cow these are tight', they are now pretty loose. I don't really notice they are in my mouth so the comfort level is fine, but the lisp is still there.

That is the most disappointing part for me because I could wear them with no problem, except for when I need to talk. With leading team meetings, doing presentations and just general updates I have to weigh the pros and cons of which meetings I can have them out for. ...

  10. tray 18 with pics /:

Still don't feel comfortable with my teeth but after looking at my before and after I feel so much better. Moments ago when I switched into my 18th tray I was kind of upset. For my bottom teeth I am only suppose to have 19 trays, leaving me with 4 weeks until they should be complete but I don't think that is going to happen. I mean who knows but just stinks. I know refinements are common but I have 35 trays for my top teeth and I'm almost positive they wait until my whole mouth is done to do refinements, ...

  11. Tray 1...Week 2 The Lisp and Other Adventures.

So...here I am at the beginning of Week 2 with Tray 1. I'll be honest. When I walked out of the orthodontist's office last week, I cried. Then I looked in the mirror. Then I cried some more.

That first week was brutal. It takes a lot of getting used to. I have two plastic trays in my mouth for 22 hours a day and they feel HUGE. I feel like my teeth are in a plastic prison. They were really bad teeth. They deserve to be punished. This week, I don't feel so claustrophobic with them ...
  12. First Blog Post!

    Well, here goes nothing.

Hello, everyone. I started Invisalign just under 2 weeks ago, and I'll be swapping my first trays out on Wednesday. Apparently, I'm a bit of an experimental case, my orthodontists exact words were "you're really pushing the limit of what Invisalign can do, but I'm confident it'll work and look forward to documenting your progress", so I'm a bit nervous about the whole thing, but I have confidence in the capabilities of the orthodontist I chose ...
  13. Well it is safe to say...

A little off topic of my invisalign journey but it is safe to say I was definitely a newbie at this site! haha I literally just learned that people had commented on my earlier post and just commented back after months. Wow, I feel dumb. Also I just learned how to reply to a comment instead of posting a whole new one. Oh well! Hope everyone is enjoying their invisalign experience (:
  14. Invisalign rant

So my whole treatment has been pretty positive and I'm still very grateful for this experience. Not to mention more than happy that everyday I get closer and closer to being done. All of that said, I know IPRs are not a big deal and honestly with my trays in you can't see a thing but I can't deal with this gap in my front tooth. Like I said super small and barely noticeable but when I take my tray out you can see it. It is funny because my orthodontist did the same IPRs to a bunch of my upper teeth ...
  15. tray sixteen!

Wow a little bit of a jump since my last post but a lot has happened. I got my bottom IPRs done and those spaces have mostly closed up. My bottom teeth are actually almost done 16/19. My top teeth are a different story. Although I am getting closer, I'm still not at all comfortable with them. I still wouldn't dare to smile or show them to people without force. 16/35 isn't horrible, def further from where I started. It is crazy to look at tray one and the one I'm at not and the progress I've made. ...
