Discuss life after braces and in retainers.
Hey guys, sorry I flaked out for the last 2(ish) years. It's been pretty crazy, but I figure you all deserve an update and anything that I have to offer.
First off, I've completed all of my 45 original trays and just went to number 20 of 32 in my refinement set. The process has been significantly shortened by my decision to start using the Acceledent system in November of 2013. That said, as I'm coming down the home stretch, I can't really imagine not having my trays in all day.
On tray four of my refinements. My teeth hurt, so it must be working. I have to admit, refinements aren't as fun as the original treatment was. At the beginning I could notice the slightest improvements but not I barely can tell anything, aside from the slight pain. At the end of the month I go to get my 6th tray plus a few more. I'm not sure if I'll get more IPRs or what. I can't believe I have a whole year more of this. So strange. My teeth were so bad before and I had 35 trays and now that they're
Got all my attachments off and they used the itero to rescan my mouth for refinements. Although I canít wait to get more trays so that my teeth can be absolutely perfect, I must admit it feels so nice to have my teeth back. Literally sliding my tongue against my teeth feels so good. I go back in four weeks but as of now only have to technically wear my trays for 12 hours a day. Relief. So happy with results so far especially in such a short time. So I donít mind refinements. Yay. Almost there.
My orthodontist just passed away. Literally the worst news I have ever heard. Not only was he super nice and hilarious but he was the best invisalign orthodontist in the northeast, if not in the united states. I donít even know how to reaact to this. Iím on tray 30 of 35 and who knows if Iíll need refinements. But I donít want anyone to touch my mouth but him): Iím paying 7,000 dollars for him because he is the best. They said weíd all continue receiving great care but Iím probably going to vomit/cry
I am getting my braces off in mid July. I am not satisfied with the results. My deep overbite was not improved at all, and that was the main reason for getting the braces. My bottom teeth had been colliding with my palette, and my upper teeth were cutting my lower lip. However, I will not be continuing treatment with my orthodontist due to a series of problems I have had over these past two years. I will try and find someone else to fix my problems in the future. Hopefully things will work out better

Thought I'd do an update after reading all my Invisalign friends' posts about being close to the finish line.
I'm getting a little close as well; I started tray 18 last week, out of 22 total. Next week, I will pick up trays 19-21. Since my last appointment, I have realized how many questions I have so I'm ready for my appointment next week to get some answers. For those of you who are curious, here is the story/main question(s).
A couple of years ago, I had to have

Can't believe I am already on tray 25. Wow time really does fly. In two weeks I go in for a few more attachments (on my front teeth, etc) and get five more trays. Only ten more to go! This is crazy. I couldn't be happier. I know I'll need refinements but the progress I've seen already is more than enough to be grateful for. Can't wait to see what they look like after the last set, never mind after refinements.
original sentence was 2 years. debanding is scheduled after only 1.5 years!

So, my braces are coming off in a week and I'm just wondering if people think they look ready to come off?
Hello everyone! :) I have braces and will have 1 year with them this may I had a check up yesterday and was only to change the top wire and tighten them on too only all my other gaps are close and now my tops ones are also she said I should be getting them off this summer and on my next vist we will be focusin on my roots? Which I didn't understand they did do X-ray and said everything was perfect can anyone explain what focusin in my roots mean?
I had my braces off four days ago and the front two teeth have already started overlapping again! I am absolutely devastated to say the least. I'm seeing my orthodontist this Friday to get the retainer, but I'm terrified he will no longer consider it his problem. Will he still fix it even though the braces are off? And any idea how it could be fixed?
I'm only 21 and worked very very hard to pay the full $6500 myself. This is causing me a lot of stress. You can see

Hey everyone.....I've not posted since before Christmas, so I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Years. :)
I'll be going to the ortho in 2 days time to pick up tray 22....my penultimate set!! I am soooo close to the finish line now. I say this in almost every blog entry but I just cannot believe how fast the time has gone. It only feels like yesterday that my ortho called me to say that my trays had arrived and everything is ready for me to begin treatment. Time sure flies.
As I'm on my 2nd day of retainers let me tell you how I feel about them. I HATE THEM. Well not both, just my lower retainer. It's cutting up the sides of my tongue, which in turn is making it difficult to eat. Not to mention that my molars are sore from the retainers! It's weird how it's just my molars though, but whatever.
Other than that I'm used to the feel of them in my mouth, but I'm still slurring some words. *sigh* I can't wait to pick up my lower Hawley retainer next Fri!
So I picked up my Essix retainers yesterday. My upper retainer fits fine, but my lower ones are a whole other issue. Because my lower teeth are so small, and some of my teeth are chipped, the essix can't fully wrap around my teeth tightly so it was slightly loose. It's gotten a lot better since yesterday, but they want to make sure my teeth don't move. So now I have to get a Hawley retainer on my bottom teeth and keep my current Essix on my top teeth. Weird huh?
As for wearing my
