Braces Colors

When getting braces on there are a few exciting aspects of the treatments that are particular favorable to teens, that is color.  Most orthodontist offer teenagers and adults alike the option to have colors applied to their braces through use of band colors.

Braces colors are usually selected to be the colors of the patients favorite sports team, school colors, etc.   For example a student at the University of Miami, may ask for the braces colors of orange and green.

Your braces colors will be changed each visit, by swamping out the rubber O rings that fit around the bracket.  This generally does not cause any braces pain, as the pain is associated with the wire adjustments.

If you just got your braces on, the colors are usually not offered until the braces settle in on your teeth.   The braces need time to appropriately bond to your teeth before the major movement starts and advanced techniques are implemented.

Some patients change the colors of the braces to match a special occasion such as a birthday party where colors were designated.

You will find your orthodontist to be happy to oblige in your request, and in some cases you may want to tip your doctor to the colors you want in the future.  This way you can be sure the braces colors are available at the time of your next adjustment.

When speaking about the braces bracket colors, there are a few options available to users:

•    Traditional Metal – Silver
•    Gold
•    Clear – Ceramic Braces

The traditional metal braces are used in most cases and are the most durable of their kind.  Color bands can be attributed around these brackets as spoken above to give the effect of the colors desired.

Clear braces such as ceramic or Ice braces are used in many cases where the user wants their treatment to go invisible for the most part.  However the most invisible form of orthodontics available today is Invisalign.
