Braces On Bottom Jaw Only

Many uses may have crooked teeth on the lower jaw only and request braces on the lower only.  In many cases orthodontist will allow this to fix gaps, however it is usually recommended that the patient receives full treatment on both upper and lower to correct alignment and bite issues that may arise from lower treatment only.  If a user has an underbite or overbite, than treament with upper and lowers is required when treating with dental braces.

If your uppers are in good shape, than your treatment time is usually half the ordinary time.  You will only benefit by having them on both the upper and lower as most clients usually see slight improvements as huge improvements.

You may request metal braces on bottom and ceramic on top to save you money as the ceramics and clear alternatives are more expensive than the traditional metal braces.

Whatever you decide it is important that you consult with several orthodontists to find out the best route for you.  It is actually quite common that a user gets braces on just the lowers, especially when there is a gap between the 2 front teeth.
