Canker Sore Relief Treatment Remedy

If you are wearing braces then there is a chance that you could get canker sore also known as an aphthous ulcers or cold sores.   Cold sores are caused by a break in the mucous membrane.  Once the break occurs the ulcer can grow and cause pain.  The combination of brace and immune system disorders can spark a cold sore that may take weeks to be treated.

Doctors normally treat and remedy the canker sores with an anesthetic such as benzocaine.  We have found that a good home remedy to treat a cold sore is the use of salt water.   Baking soda is also a good treatment.  Drugstores such as CVS may sell something to numb the pain, but you may also want to try milk.

Take about a cup of water and add either table salt or sea salt to it.  Proceed to gargle the water of the cold sore repeatedly.  Do this several times daily and you may find less pain the cold sore to recover quickly.
