Dental Implants Problems

I am getting dental Implants. What Problems can I expect?

A dental implant is an artificial replacement for a missing tooth root and holds a bridge or replacement tooth in place. The implant is placed in the jaw, and acts as an anchor to hold the new tooth firmly in place.
One of the many common concerns after getting dental implants is swelling or inflammation of the tissues around the implant. This could even make the entire dental implant an utter failure. In fact, sometimes an implant can be the cause for of bone loss.  But, as this condition mainly occurs because of bacterial action, you can both avoid and treat it. To avoid inflammation, practice good oral hygiene and visit a dentist regularly. If you're already suffering from inflammation, your dentist will treat the symptoms.

Dental implants can also result in nerve damage that can happen if the dentist positions the implant too close to your nerve. This is a situation that occurs because of the dentist’s error. That's why it's so important to choose only a specialized implantologist or dental surgeon to perform the procedure. If there is nerve damage, you will feel intense pain, and your dentist may prescribe painkillers.

There is always the chance that a loose implant can lose its position. This may happen usually because of wrong placement of the implant.  It can also occur because of biting hard surfaces.
Your implant may also break off.  Titanium and other metals are used to manufacture your implant and there is always the risk of it breaking off.
