Elastics Rubber Bands Invisalign Bite Correction

Orthodontists have now started using elastics in conjunction with the treatment of Invisalign.  Invisalign is a clear braces alternative in which the user is given a new retainer about every 3 to 4 weeks.

Elastics are used to help get certain teeth on the right track.  They can also be used to help bite issues.  By using rubber bands or elastics they will constantly pull the teeth in the right direction.  Underbites have been fixed tremendously with the use of elastics and will continue to be a widely used tool in modern orthodontics.

Some orthodontists do not offer elastics with Invisalign as it is still a relatively new technique.  You will have to shop around to make sure you find an ortho that is well versed in fixing bite issues and such with elastics.  This advanced procedure of Invisalign can make a big difference in your bite.
