My Invisalign Journey (aka my 2nd time around with braces)

Moving to tray 10 early and other issues...

Ugh! What a week it's been. I'm currently on day 11 of tray 9. I've had problems in the past with my aligner cracking between the canine "fang" and the 1st premolar on the left side. Last night, not only did the aligner crack there, it also cracked in the middle of the attachment bubble on my front left tooth. It split from the bubble all the way to the top of the aligner. This means there's nothing pushing that incisor to the left and I can definitely notice it feels like nothing is pushing on that tooth. It also pinched the skin on the back of my lip so hard, I now have a rough line in that spot, if I turn my lip up. OUCH!!!!

And, of course, this had to happen during the middle of commencement yesterday (I was a marshal at graduation and had to escort the faculty). Every picture on our school's website and you can see a pained look on my face and my tongue covering my tooth. I look like I'm making faces the whole time! So, I'll move to tray 10 a little earlier than expected, but I'll have to wear it longer to compensate. I'll make the switch tonight.

On to the next issue: when I ran out of mouthwash last week, I decided to try some store-brand alcohol free mouthwash. Since I've been using mouthwash so frequently, it feels like my mouth is getting "burned" by all the alcohol. So, I tried this particular one because it's the store-brand of Crest Pro Health. OMG! It's horrible! I have lost most of my sense of taste!!!! It's really freaking me out! I stopped using it 4 days ago and I still haven't regained my sense of taste. It feels like I have a metallic taste in my mouth all the time and no matter what I eat, I can barely taste it. I even ate something salty today and it tasted like nothing. I'm so upset!!!! Of course, I go and Google the issue and see story after story about this kind of mouthwash causing loss of taste that lasts for years. YIKES!!!!!!!!! Needless to say, I'm not a happy camper right now!

I'll post some pics later when I switch to my new trays tonight. Sorry to be so whiney in this post, but I'm just absolutely FRUSTRATED right now. I just want to taste my food again!!!!

Yes! It was a pretty tight fit, especially on my overlapped incisors. But I got them on. Now that I've had 'em on for a few days, they feel pretty good. I'm trying to take off my trays a different way each time to see if it prevents the cracks from occurring. I'm still worried my left canine isn't tracking well. It's the only tooth that doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the tray. It's not that much of a space, but I can see it. I'll know more when I go to the ortho on June 5th!
