There is not a whole lot of difference in putting on and caring for a patient with lingual brackets. It's all about the orthodontist's training and many are trained to use lingual brackets, due to their popularity.

A popular choice where I work is upper linguals and lower ceramics. Invisalign is only suitable for a small number of people, and for those who don't want brackets to be seen ... then linguals are the brackets of choice. Linguals are the only invisible form of orthodontic treatment and popular with professionals, actors, models etc.
