My oral sugeon ranked the best choices as ... exposure first, or remove and replace with an implant as second. If unable to be removed (as in my case) ... close the gap (first) or open the gap for a bridge or plate (second).

Talk to your OS and orthodontist about your options and ask them to help you make this decision. If you are still uncertain, have more consults.

If I'd been able to have my impacted canine removed, I'd have opted for an implant, as the canine teeth are very important for guiding your bite. This choice was taken from me, due to my canine not being able to be removed. The closing of the gap is going very slowly for me.
