Is it possible to pause orthodontic treatment without reversing the progress that braces have already made? This is on my mind right now because I'm considering joining the Navy, and my recruiter told me that my braces have to come off before I can go to basic. I'm looking to join in the next few months, but my ortho treatment won't be complete until April 2009. Is there anyway to get a temporary retainer that will hold my teeth in place until I can continue treatment? I would seriously hate to lose all the improvements (and money!). I plan on talking to my ortho about this when I see him again, which won't be until next month. For now I'm just wondering if you guys know anything about this. I'm still weighing my options, and I'm open to suggestions. Thanks!
