I think it's just because you are conscious of your aligners. I suspect that, when you forget about your aligners, the dry mouth problem will go away.

I've heard of a small surgery where they cut into the gum, attach a hook or bracket to the tooth, and then use some form of chain, spring or elastic...

You could always get the tooth yanked out and then put in an implant. But I would imagine the cost of that would be prohibitive vs waiting for it to...
