CANADA Just won GOLD vs. USA in men's Hockey at the olympics!!!! Sydney Crosby got the winning goal! PS-I went to High school with Sydney Crosby!!
Well I'm 36 and finally got my braces yesterday, after years of being to afraid of getting my wisdom teeth pulled. I got my wisdom teeth (all 4) pulled out right before Christmas, yes what a present to myself huh? Yesterday was finally the day. I was feeling fine and thought "This is not a big deal" until I tried to eat dinner last night.... Well needless to say, I couldn't. I have built up parts (not sure what they are called) on my two eye teeth, so I won't bit off my ...
So i think these are the greatist type of bracket ever! Some glad they are so astheticaly pleasing. Very difficult to see, even with a small metal wire. Anyhow no need for wax, I was kinda expecting them to cut in my mouth more then what they are. Does it get worst, or if they dont bother me now, will it be fine? I am starting to feel some tenderness, not affecting anything really though. The biggest thing I just relised that I wont be able to do it bite my fingernails. Iknow this ...
well finally got my refeinment trays today!!!! had to have 3 more lower and 7 more upper but i only have to wear them for a week each so not to bad i suppose!!!!
Tomorow, Tomorow, its only a day away..... Or in my case 10 hrs before ill be wired up again. Unfortunatly, im nervous and perhaps slightly shy about having to go to work afterwards. I dont know, ah well. I started taking pics of before, and my plan is to take a pic every night for the duration of treatment and make a quick movie out of it. Hope it works. And yes, I have lots of water and chapstick ready to go for tomorow.
Right Left Bottom Note: The bottom tooth is basically the problem tooth. As you can see it's rotated, and my ortho has been trying to get this sucker back to it's rightful position ...
So that power chain has been whipping my mouth into shape! I think the errant tooth is almost back to where it should be (according to my ortho, not Mother Nature ) and its been moving all its power chainned buddies along. Last night I had to take a Motrin in the middle of the night because the pressure was so intense! Of course now the bottom teeth are getting into the realignment action so I'm sure they'll be sore for a day or two. Its not as bad as the tops yesterday and I'm ...

Here's a pic from a few years ago (one of my favourites) of me, Jasmin and my mum. It was taken on my 22nd Birthday. I will be 26 on Sunday, where does the time go??? So yesterday I had my adjustment. I knew my teeth had made great progress since my last visit. All the gaps have closed, but one little gap at the top. Those elastics do a great job. It ...
So uhhh, no the braces didn't come off yesterday. In fact in the last month one of my teeth moved back to where it was pre-braces I have 3/4s of my top row wrapped with silver wire to keep them in place while the other 1/4 had the regular clear bands on. They were supposed to move around to fill in a small gap. Instead of filling in the gap one tooth opted to go retro So now I have a power chain on that part (rest still wrapped) trying to force that tooth ...
Well, here's my first blog post on this forum. Here, you'll see my cephalometric radiograph so you can see my mandibular prognathism. I'll post more pictures when they become available. As you can see in this picture, you'll notice that there's nearly a full centimeter open bite with the anterior teeth, as well as the deep bite that where ...

Today I went to my ortho and had 12 attachments put on. 6 on top and 6 on the bottom. It really wasn't that bad, no pain or anything like that. I am struggling now with getting them off. I'm sure it will get easier with time. The ortho has instructed me to continue wearing my first trays for one more week. They feel A LOT tighter than before, so now I am kind of glad to wear them for another week. It makes me feel like they are really doing what they are suppose to when they are tight like this ...
My appointment is in 1.5 hours and I am so nervous! I've had these braces so long they've become a part of my identity. Every month I see (and feel!) progress. Last month my ortho said they may come off today or possibly next month. The gap I was concerned about last month closed and my bite seems normal again - but I've been in his care long enough to know what seems like perfection to me isn't always good enough him So lets see what happens - if they come off today ...
So I see my countdown ticker slowly comeing close to the day I get Damon clears put on. Excited, nervous, really excited, really nervous! Gosh I don't recall feeling this way when I got them on as a kid, but then again braces as a kids is "cool". Ah well, it is what it is, and here is so a fast treatment time and crossing my fingers to be out of them by the new year (he originally said 6-10 months but upon 2nd consult he said perhaps a bit longer, 6-12????). I am very happy ...
