Went in this afternoon for my adjustment, and got a new assistant. Before I chickened out, I boldly announced to her "I'm getting COLORS today!" and asked if I could see the color palette. Since the ortho was out of the room, I quickly asked if I could take a photo of it so I could look at it before I got to the office, and she had no problem at all. She put it on the table for me and said "You only have braces once; might as well have fun with them!" I chose Plum Crazy (how ...

Today (Weds 29th) I got my spacers and had my final consult before Brace Day (Weds Oct 6th) with my ortho. This is my first blog post. I previously wrote quite a few postings in the introduce yourself forum. If you want some cheap entertainment have at them. Talk about a huge learning curve! Here's what happened today in no particular order: * I decided to go old school all metal brackets. I truly was on the fence pretty much up to the end on whether ...
Hola, Ello Readers So I am in my last 2 days of spacers or some my ortho says I sure hope so, this time is a hell of alot easier I just which they didn't have to be this bright blue color lol but I complain to everyone about that. Anyways I've been eating semi solid foods as well as Sonic drinks every night or Cumberland farm chill zones just to help soothe any pain I do have in my teeth. I am going in bright and early Friday morning to have my palate expander ...
Hey all! Here are some pics of my teeth with the new powerchains on the front teeth and the movement. Check my album! Enjoy
Adjustment went very smooth. I was started with an intermediate wire, so it was left in and powerchains were added on both top and bottom. The goal is to close the spaces over the next 6 weeks and then I will be moving towards the surgical wires. I'll do another update in a couple weeks to show what the powerchains have done to close the spaces. Here are some pics: Photo on 2010-09-28 at 14.jpg Day Before Adjustment sept-28-2010.jpg ...

I had a pretty productive appointment today, it was pretty routine. Removal of wires, powerchain and brush, floss and rinse. My ortho put the same wire on and gave me new powerchains on the bottom teeth. On top, she put powerchains on the rotated tooth on the outside, she said that we are almost done with the rotation of that tooth. She then decided that I was having such an issue with my front teeth not having any movement she put powerchains on my two front teeth. After ...
Hello Friends, I have arrived at tray set 32/32, which marks the end of my initial Invisalign treatment stage. It has taken me just shy of 15 months to complete the 32 sets, and the outcome makes all the lost weight, public embarrassment, uncomfortable group dinner events, and inability to randomly raid the fridge well worth it! Actually, it really hasn't been that hard at all. Today, my 7 attachments were removed, my teeth were re-shaped and smoothed, a little pre-refinement ...

Well, it's been 4 weeks and things are going pretty well. My son (22 months old) hit me in the mouth on Saturday morning, and that hurt pretty bad, my mouth and teeth felt sore and like they were going to fall out all day. Still pretty OCD about brushing, but I guess thats a good thing.. So here are my pics... 2weeks 09132010.jpg 4weeks 09272010.jpg So my 1st adjustment is next ...
So i posted a blog last week and i double posted or soemthing happened but I dont know where it went. Anyways last week i had spacers put back in, for the reason I will be getting my palate expander cemeted into the roof of my mouth for a month before it is activated ( needs to be done surgically) Damn these bands stink but not as bad as last time which im very happy about, I have been actually able to eat a lil more then I had the first time. I have an appointment on Friday morning ...
My appointment went just as I was hoping. I got my 4 original arch wires taken out and 4 very sturdy wires put in. I also got 2 power chains. I knew I would get one but was surprised to get two. He also said my jaw alignment is getting worse. (That's what's causing all my TMJ problems.) He asked if I grind or clench my teeth at night. I told him that I know I clench but probably grind as well. He's hoping that my power chains will help fix that. We're hoping to jaw surgery to happen late spring ...
I just started on my 5th tray this week. On Wednesday, I went for a check up and to my surprise my ortho told me that she won't be using attachments for my treatment because the trays are doing their job on their own~She went on to tell me that she went to a invisalign seminar few months ago and she found out that if the teeth need to be straighten, but are not turned, then there's no need for attachments. I am confused because every blog/forum I researched before getting my treatment ...
I had my first adjustment appointment yesterday. My orthodontist was super excited about how much my teeth had moved! He said I looked "radically different" haha He's an interesting guy His assistant hadn't seen me since I got my braces on, and she asked me if I had done something different to my hair or if I had changed my glasses. It wasn't until my ortho pulled out my pre-braces dental molds (and I was instantly horrified) that she realized that the difference was ...

So, I got my Damon's on yesterday. It went well, although the nurse who did it was new and didn't really know what she was doing... She had to keep having the doctor look over what she was doing. Before I even put my car in drive after cranking it, a bracket popped loose. hard! So I went back in and she took the wire off of that entire side of my mouth (it was in the front), glued the bracket back on, then rewired them all! Hurt like crazy considering I had JUST gotten them on to begin with. ...
I'm sure this is kinda normal, but I've noticed the tooth next to my middle teeth on the left getting pretty loose! So I'm a little worried. I've read about it online, but was wondering how loose is acceptable? I can see it move when I push on it! I need to stop touching it I think, but its hard, especially if I'm bored at work or something. I think I'll call my ortho tomorrow just to make sure that everything is going okay. Also I'm already almost out of wax! perhaps I'm using ...
