Well ive now had my expanding retainer in for 6weeks.... Things are certainly starting to move. I can feel a real difference when i remove my retainer. My bite has completely changed and feels weird. Not really noticing to many changes from the front veiw tho. Ive been suffering with really sore heads for the past week. My dentist says it is likely to be the retainer that is causing it because my teeth are starting to move. I cant seem to take anything to get rid of the pain Does ...
First time post here...been over at archwired, someone recomended this site, so here I am checking y'all out! This does look a little more user friendly, although I have gotten a lot of good advice from the good folks at archwired..I notices a few names here from there too! I am 4 months into braces...I put my name here at theresa 48/49/50 because these are all the ages I will be with my braces on...lucky me! It has been a rocky road for me, I hate having braces. ...
Hi all, Should I be concerned? my ortho checked my progress and said that she was not goign to do anything until tray 6. I asked if not having the attachment would hinder the progress and she said no, they assist, but they're not necessary for me at this point. Is this normal procedure? Thank you!! Claudia
teeth1.jpgteeth2.jpg Here's comparing baseline to today...sorry for the blurry photo...taken with cell phone but you can see the difference pretty clearly, I think. I'm about 1.5 months in. Very exciting! My upper arch is starting to look like...well, an arch!
So I got my bands put on the other day and I was happy I could actually eat after just relearning to eat with those damn spacers in. Well I get those back in in a few weeks on the 24th (ughhh) so they can put in my expander piece on the first as well as bottom ceramic brackets Anyways I been having some issues with the outsides of these bands but only wen i ate, chew, sneezed and coughed on my lower left. that pain now subsided and now i am having the pain in my upper left, i guess ...
I've been in braces for two weeks (and a little more) and I can already see movement! My orthodontist said that he saw some definite movement at my one week followup, and the progress has continued through my second week. My bottom teeth are opening up slightly (I can tell when I floss) and my "fangs" (not sure what the name of the tooth is) aren't as stacked as they used to be. I think it's most noticeable when I smile (!!) My front teeth have also shifted a little, and ...

The "Adjustment" is in quotes because all I actually had done today was a lig change. I don't know if that was due to the fact that the assistant was on vacation, and ortho was manning the office all by himself; or, if he just felt it wasn't necessary to change the wires. I think it's the latter. I had called him a week or so ago asking if he carried Pearl colored ligs, and the receptionist said he would check. I guess he remembered because he had them set aside for me. They ...
Hi everyone! Today I had my second adjustment. I got some thicker wires and my turbos were removed! yay! I remember when I first got them on, I was convinced I would never eat again. And now, 3 months later, they are off. I feel a little pressure from the new wires, but I don't think it will be as bad as when I first got braces. I was very encouraged to see progress and I think these wires will create even more progress. My ortho said I would probably have to come in before my next ...
Ok, so I wasn't going to post anything today. Have been doing ok...I'm starving, and my lips hurt...wax has definately become my friend! After dinner, basically green beans and mashed potatos, and some VERY done chicken breast I was brushing and flossing my teeth and I saw it....I HAVE A SMALL GAP IN BETWEEN MY TWO FRONT TEETH! I had to pull up my before pics and ZOOM IN to see if I was really seeing a new gap....Yep, it's a change!!!
