Today for the first time I'm beginning to see movement with my teeth. Though the movement is tiny small gaps seem to be forming around some of my teeth. There was one tooth that was slightly overlapped and its seems to be moving away already. My orthodontist also said he was trying to pull down my teeth, to make them smoother at the end of the treatment, and it already looks like they are moving down quite a bit. I'm really excited to see what the next few months has in store and I cant wait to ...
So, the first week in braces is coming to the end. Its actually been a very normal week, other than my appointment to get my braces on. I have managed to really adjust to my braces to the point that I forget I have them which is great! I also started school again yesterday and out of all my classes and friends all of 2 people realized I had braces on, which I'm also very happy about. So for anyone who is skeptical about getting braces for ascetics reasons, go for the ceramic ...

I started an album today and uploaded some photos. Despite being terrible quality since I took them with my cell phone and emailed them to myself its better than none. I also tried my digital camera but the flash blinds/distorts the whole picture. I'll try and upload more in the near future when I get better at "tooth" shots :P See my pics here http://www.bracesreview.com/forums/m...my-braces.html

I'm on the second day of my seven-hundred and thirty day journey and so far everything is pretty much how I expected things to be. The pain is a lot less than spacers, I'm basically used to the braces being in my mouth until I eat or talk then I can really feel them. When I eat chewing is still quite painful so I'm sticking to softer foods and its been bearable. When I talk it feels very weird as the brackets seem to rub against my lips/mouth giving a little sore feeling but nothing major. Ive also ...
So I got my braces on today and I'm very happy. The procedure was quick and painless. A tiny bit of discomfort at times but overall great. I got my ceramics on top which I'm very happy about, I also got "Stain resistant" ligatures, well see how that goes. As for the bottom I got metal braces with metal (silver) Ligatures. Had to watch a very childish video about dental hygiene which was very basic and mostly commonsense. I also revived a boring dental kit from GUM, with the normal bits ...

I have now had my spacers in for 4 days (and a few hours) and I can say officially the pain associated with them is completely gone. I can chew normally, and have no discomfort at any time. The pain was the worst the first 48 or so hours but after than it gradually got better and better. So anyone who has spacers just keep taking painkillers for the first 48 hours and you'll survive! I cannot wait for Wednesday I'm so excited to see what ill look like with braces on!
My spacers are now beginning to make my mouth sore and are allowing my teeth to wiggle a tiny bit. The pain is bearable until i try and eat then I have quite a lot of difficulty chewing. It seems to be fine when I bite down without food, but when I try and bite down on food my teeth feel like they are about to explode. I hope the pain goes away soon otherwise the next week is going to go by extremely slow : (
I returned to my Orthodontist today and after a second small consultation I decided to keep my baby teeth, as he advised me to. I hope they stay in for many years (hopefully 50 or so) to come. I also got my spacers in. I was expecting a little bit of pain, but i was kind of disappointed in a way when there wasn't a slight bit of pain. *Figures crossed* for no pain in the next couple days. I'll be returning to get my braces fitted on Wednesday August 19th!
My First post here, and on the forums so I will use the same one twice to save time "Hey everyone, I found this forum through a search on google and have already found a lot of valuable information! I had my first ever orthodontist appointment yesterday and due to the fact my dentist (a family friend) recommended him, and the way I felt very comfortable in his office. I decided to choose him straight after my consultation as my long term orthodontist. I had X-rays and molds ...
