top jaw is too small and I have to get surgery soon to break my top jaw in half, its called SARPE which stands for Surgically assisted rapid palatal expansion.

i have my expander and braces in right now, they have been on for 4 days, but there aint wires on the top until after surgery

Just wondering if anyone has been through the same thing, and if they could tell me their experience

thankyouuuuuuuuu

    hi amberlauren,

best bet is to post in the general forums, as many have had this done and it is quite common... sometime braces and the expander alone can get the results you are looking for....without the surgery.

Keep us posted as to your jorney along the way.

    Hi and welcome amberlauren!

SARPE is usually quite a straight forward surgery, with a short recovery period. Ask your surgeon loads of questions and hopefully that will help you be well prepared.

Bet you'll be thrilled when your upper jaw is expanded and is able to meet the teeth on your lower.

    Good luck!

I get my braces this week , on wednsday and my expander, and why are you getting your bottom jaw surgery so far into having braces?
i know it aint fun, but it will be worth it, as long as nothing goes wrong lol
when are you getting your braces?
