Hi, I'm Anny and I got my top braces three days before my thirtieth birthday. After much delay I finally got my bottom braces in mid-March.
The change in my smile has been amazing and I love going in for adjustments and feeling my teeth move!

My appointment today was pleasantly dull. The ortho and his vice ortho were both very pleased with movement. I got buttons and chains behind two teeth last month in order to rotate them into correct position. He said it would take a while to get them into perfect alignment so sadly the chains are still there.
I really hate the chains. I'm always fraying my tongue on them or trying to fish food out from between them. They're a necessary evil though and I can feel what a different they've already made to my bite.
Instead of my "usual" clear bands I got silver ones today. I feel really silly having paid extra for ceramic braces only to make them stand out by getting silver bands. Next month I go back to clear - staining be damned

They're fine and only in for a month so I'm not too concerned. At least I can say I tried at least one other color!Posted 06-11-2009 at 08:44 PM by Anny

I've only got one ceramic bracket ... the rest are metal, and I still have people, who see me regularly, discovering I'm having ortho treatment ... after nearly four years ... it's amazing.
I'm guessing this proves what I was told before my treatment started ... that our teeth mean heaps to us, but to others they're a non event ... and why it be any different?

You guys are so right. Once I point out the braces to other people they always say "Oh I've always wanted to fix this about my teeth" and point out stuff I never notice LOLPosted 07-16-2009 at 07:11 PM by Anny
