Thirty with Braces

Dentist Thumbs Up Ortho, makes me Bleed :/

I went to see my dentist for a cleaning. Aren't they awful with braces? I always end up with a face full of sprinkled water *roll eyes*

He was very excited to see my progress and said it looks like I'm almost done being braced. On the downside my gums were randomly swollen on cleaning day (idk why) so he told me to rinse with warm water and salt for a day or two until they go back to normal.

Of course swollen gums + braces + thorough dentist meant I did a tiny bit of bleeding through the cleaning process but nothing major.

I look forward to this being my last cleaning in braces though, they are so uncomfortable!

    good to hear about your progress.. Get yourself a sonic care toothbrush and massage though gums

    Great your dentist is so impressed ... it sounds great for you!

    My dentist and hygienist are both excellent when working with people with braces. Gently and comfortable ... sorry your experience hasn't been the same.

    Good luck with your gums and your treatment finishing!

    Heya Mikeg, I've been using a sonicare for years! I don't know what my braces and I would have done without it.

    I didn't bleed during my other cleanings Sunny, I think my swollen gums were just being a problem that day. I do always get sprinkled with water though *LOL*

    I feel the same way Anny...my 2nd cleaning in braces is coming up in the next couple of weeks and I find myself dreading it more so than ever! Mine uses a powerwasher, that feels like a sand blaster and I absolutely hated it! All gritty and salty and totally gross....I will never fuss about general pick pick pick cleanings again after this!!!! Hopefully this is my last one in braces and I can be done with the whole wet face sand blasting ordeal!!!!
