Look at that - I got my braces exactly one year ago today!

Its honestly been the best investment I've ever made. I love my braces and give the biggest smiles. My confidence and aversion of shredded meat have both skyrocketted.

I've learned
- that bottom braces are the worst things in the world.
- just how small rice grains can be.
- that other people can totally see you tounging braces after a meal
- to appreciate flossing
- to revere power brushes
- that silver bands on white ceramic look silly
- to listen to my ortho
- the importance of straws when drinking stainy bevs
- to love bagels after a tightening
- to pimp braces to anyone who asks
- to love my smile

Congrats Anny--love your list---I can totally relate!!!! I am nearing my one year mark too, Jan 5th will be one year. I can hardly believe it went by so quick. Seems like I blinked and here I am. Back then, with the whole year drawn out ahead of me and wondering how am I going to deal with having these on for the next 18 months....it was just hard to see me one year ahead...but almost there! I'm with you though, what great changes during this time...my teeth are basically straight in just over 10 months...still lots of fine tuning to go, but OMG, I smile and I don't think about it---where as before, my smiles were very...hmmm....fake...I felt the emotion inside and wanted to show it, but just hated the way my teeth looked so much that I contained it. NO MORE though, what a life changing year!!! I can't wait til mid next year when they come off....I can hardly picture that either, but the time will come...just as this year flew by!!!!
    Congrats on all the progress!!!!

Great you're at the one year mark!

Your list is great ... although I totally disagree about the silver ligs, although I've never had them, many of our patients do, especially those who smoke ... and they blend in beautifully.

Good luck with your treatment continuing to go so well and you continuing to love your smile ... that's such a positive way to end your post ... love it!
