So it is now 7 days until I get my braces off!! What a crazy 16 months! I got so giddy today when I woke up to a text message on my phone asking me to call and confirm my appointment! I called, and spoke to the front desk asking HIM to confirm that I was indeed getting my braces off. After a few moments he comes back and says "It says here you're scheduled for de-band". SCORE!!! HOLY CRAP!! I literally just finished crying on the way home from my Ortho appointment!! Just finished up my appointment and my Ortho says everything is perfect!! He removed my powerchains, cut my wires on uppers and lowers from the Canine and removed them so I now only have a wire attached to 6 teeth on top and bottom! Had another Ortho appointment Wednesday afternoon. Nothin too major. We've been moving my powerchain over tooth by tooth to fix my midline and we still had 5 more teeth to move so I was expecting the powerchain to go to my canine and be done with it. Instead I was pleasantly surprised when he said we were gonna go ahead and put my powerchain back across the entire uppers- from molar to molar! Woohoo!! Not too much to update about considering my last appointment was only 7 days ago BUT still enough to keep record of. :) I went in an hour ago and as scheduled, were putting on a new powerchain to move over my upper central lateral. In case you missed last weeks' blog, we're moving each tooth over one-by-one since we had to shift my midline last month- so I have 2 more spots to move over before THAT's done. Been monitoring my huge GAP situation for a few days now and decided I was getting pretty darn agitated with it. My newest Ortho appointment was yesterday morning and it was a pretty quick one. He took a look at my bite and informed me that my lower jaw has finally come forward to as far as it's going to go (I think that's a YAY lol). He also did a quick check to make sure all lower gaps were closed and said that we were DONE with lower powerchains for good! I can't say I'm thrilled with today's appointment- I'll tell you why.

Had my Ortho appointment 3 hours ago and thankfully I'm not as sore as I was expecting I would be so that was a PLUS. As soon as I arrived, the assistant (who I adore) got to work on removing my Powerchains before my Ortho came in. Whew, no discomfort. Another plus. He had me do all the usual- "bite down, ...

So today is *drumroll* my 9 month anniversary of my braces!! I also had my Orthodontic check up to celebrate the occasion. Heh. More great news and more great progress!

Had my appointment at 10:30 this morning, and I knew I was due for a new set of Powerchains since I had just gone 6 weeks without having them so I was prepared for that. ...

So tonight I was taking my normal 3 week progression photos when I realized three things.

1) The time is FLYING by so fast that I feel like I'm taking pics every week even though I'm not.
2) My bite has changed a LOT in just the last 3.5 weeks.
and 3) I've really come to love (and appreciate) my Elastics! lol!

Being that I never really had a 'bite' per-say, it is so wonderfully awkward biting down without teeth hitting and poking the roof of my mouth. ...

It's been about 16 hours since my Ortho/Dental Appointment and I'm still feelin the discomfort.

I blogged last week that I had an appointment in 2 days but my Ortho had a last-minute cancellation and had to reschedule me for this week. I was already set for my 3 month cleaning and polishing with my Hygienist and since they're in the same office we try and schedule them at the same time. I was excited to get my teeth all nice and pretty again and switch to a clear or white powerchain! ...

This is my first Blog and while I was gonna start with all my background information, I figured since I'm only 2 days away from my next adjustment I'd just start in "real time" on this one.
