My newest Ortho appointment was yesterday morning and it was a pretty quick one. He took a look at my bite and informed me that my lower jaw has finally come forward to as far as it's going to go (I think that's a YAY lol). He also did a quick check to make sure all lower gaps were closed and said that we were DONE with lower powerchains for good! He removed the small silver one he had placed last month on half of my lowers and we got to work on my midline. Since my lower center gap had closed, it really put my midline off-center last month. This month we're focusing on that. He attached a new powerchain on top from my premolar to my central front incisor. This is going to pull those teeth to my right to match up with my lower midline. Sounded great, right? I nodded and he said that was it! We were done for today. Next appointment... 2 weeks!! August 8th!! They're getting closer and closer and I can feel it!! He said this will make a larger gap between my front upper incisors so I will then need a powerchain across the whole uppers to bring them together once that happens. Makes sense to me :)

So I went home.. and about an hour later went to take a shower. I looked in the mirror.

UH,...

What. Is. THAT?!

The spacing between my front 2 teeth was CRAZY! That was WAY more than just a 'larger gap'. I just stood there in shock.

Just last week my teeth looked like this: Picture 467.jpg

I'm so glad I only have to sport this new look for another 12 days because this is insane. I had a dinner party with 20+ people attending and I knew that every hour that went by, my gap was getting larger and larger. Didn't smile much throughout the evening so yeah, that sucked. Oh well. These changes are going so fast and I'm just along for the ride! I swear it feels like magic- the day I get an adjustment, something drastic happens and then another few weeks later, more new stuff! Anyway, that's it. Will update in 2 wks when I return!!

BTW- I can slide a toothpick almost in the space now. That's how large it is. joy.

UPDATE: 24 hours later... it's still getting larger. I think I can hear it whistle when I talk LOL Picture 488.jpg

Crazy how an adjustment can create space so quickly. That's great your appointments are getting closer, that is a very good sign. Looks like your midline will be fixed in no time

OMG it's so crazy how fast your teeth can move!! I haven't had a gap in my two front teeth for so long that if I was to get it tomorrow I would probably DIE lol! At least your next appointment is only 2 weeks away! Woohoo! I love when they are that close!

Uhmmmm welcome to my FREAKIN LIFE!! lol. Have you seen my "Before" pics??? I know what it's like to live with a massive gap in your front teeth! Be thankful it's only for 12 days and not for 22 years :p That being said, I love powerchains because they move things sooo quickly! (Except for the pain...) Wooo! Progress!!

Trust me, I wanna die at this point LOL. I think this is the first time so far I've been self-conscious in my braces. My friends are like "What The Hell?! I just saw you yesterday"!! I feel like everyone is staring at it so I've been keeping my head down as much as possible. I just can't believe how freakin FAST this stuff happens. I'm just so impressed that when my Ortho says he's gonna make my teeth do something, it starts happening immediately. I'll go back on the 8th, get my new powerchain to close this gap, and then I'll get a wire that will (again) tuck my front teeth in. He says once that happens...we'll tweak a few more spots I'm unhappy with and then I'm DONE!!!

Chill out! You are looking great whatever you say. You'll look back at this moment with fondness and have a few good laughs when you remember.
