Boira wants a new smile

This is my Invisalign journey, starting on June 28th 2011

  1. Tray #17

by , 02-11-2012 at 04:33 PM (Boira wants a new smile)
Only 9 trays left for my upper arch!
There's still a lot of movement needed, but I can say things go according to plan and I'm pleased with the results so far. Well, except for the IPR issue. I'm still angry about that. My midline will never look vertical.

The lower arch has still 29 trays to go.

  2. Tray #14 and IPR

by , 01-07-2012 at 04:52 AM (Boira wants a new smile)
    Hello all,

I'm starting this New Year with tray #14.
7 months so far and fianlly some changes to see. This is the 1st tray after IPR was done on my upper arch and it feels quite tight, specially on my 4 front teeth.
The gaps opened by the IPR procedure aren't noticeable with the trays on, but they open again when I take them off. By the way, I'm annoyed with the way IPR was done on my two fron teeth. The midline isn't vertical. It's already done and I can't do anything ...

Just a quick update to upload a couple of pictures.
I'm on tray #10 at the moment and -finally- there're some visible changes on the front

  4. Tray #8

    Tray #8 is on

Wow, I can't believe tray #8 is already on.
Finally, I'm sarting to see changes in the front. Sure they are still minimal, but I'm quite happy about it. So far, the trays have been expanding my narrow upper arch and now it's time to start moving the front teeth into place, too.

By the way, this past month have been my first holidays with Invisalign. I was worried at first, but cleaning your trays in fountains in public parks or brushing your ...

  5. Tray #6

by , 09-11-2011 at 02:10 PM (Boira wants a new smile)
    Time flies, isn't it?

I'm already on my tray #6.
No changes are noticeable from the outside, but after 2.5 months of treatment I can floss easily now, which was impossible some weeks ago.
Comparing upper trays #1 and 6#, I can see there's a small difference. The arch has widened a bit. I can't wait for it to be wide enough to allow the front teeth to move.

  6. Tray #2 is on!

by , 07-14-2011 at 05:26 AM (Boira wants a new smile)
    Small update.

Tray #2 has been on for 3 days now. I'm liking the process so far, no problem having them on for 22h, even during the week end.

I miss snaking at work but hey, I can live with that
The difference I've noticed from tray #1 is that although #2 was a lot more tight during the 1st day and I could feel a lot more pressure (and some pain), the teeth have adapted 'faster' to their new position.

  7. Yesterday was the Big Day!

by , 06-29-2011 at 02:16 PM (Boira wants a new smile)
Finally, after a 13 week wait (yes, 13 weeks!) I got my trays.

Everything went really fast with my ortho: no need of IPR or attachements yet. She only showed me how to put the trays on and how to get them off and gave me 2 sets of aligners. Then she set my next appointment in 4 weeks and told me that I'll be getting 13 attachements then (7 upper, 6 lower arch).

At the moment, I'm not experiencing any pain or discomfort. A little bit of pressure on my back teeth, but ...

  8. The week before tray 1

by , 06-21-2011 at 02:17 PM (Boira wants a new smile)
In a week time (June 28th), I'll be getting my 1st Invisalign tray.
It's going to be a long journey: 26 upper trays and 48 lowers. IPR, 15 attachments, refinements, probably a mid-course correction for that lower arch, but -thankfully-, no extractions. I'm not happy about needing IPR, but at least it won't be necessary to sacrifice healthy teeth. I know my teeth look horrible, misaligned and crowded, but I've done my best to keep them healthy and -except for two fillings- they're cavity-free. ...
