I just returned from the orthodontist am - I am braced! I almost didnt sleep the whole night and got up early, fortunately i was the first patient this morning. So far it was no pain and all in all it didnt take more than 2 hours, but the first look in the mirror was strange, and especially my tongue and lips give me the feeling that there are huge metal parts in my mouth! The assistant was very proud of the "perfect work". Concerning the pictures I didnt take any, but hundreds of them were taken at the office last week and also today after the braces were installed as documentation of the treatment, at the end I will get a professional disk with all the pictures and xrays. I already tried the wax to releave my mouth, some fell at the floor, some have been swallowed,... it needs a bit of experience I think! Brushing and flossing will be the program for the afternoon. Concerning food I was adviced to take fluids only today, tomorrow depending on the situation, soft food would be allowed. Hoping to getting used to the braces! cu

Great that your journey has started!

Be positive and look after your oral hygiene well and hopefully you'll find you'll adjust to having braces with ease.

With practise you'll find using wax, flossing and brushing becomes easier.

We tell our patients not to chew for a couple of hours after their braces are put on, and then to get back to eating as they usually do as soon as is possible. Good luck with your eating and general comfort.

    Take care!

You might want to start using a ticker (just place it in your signature) tickerfactory.com It takes a little practise to clean your mouth. You'll get used to them within a week

Brace, paste the bb code that's given when you complete the ticker, to your 'edit signature' section. First click on User CP ... the first heading in the blue bar to the left of Blogs. Then choose 'edit signature' from the left column.

If you're still having problems, check the section below where you posted the bb code, to make sure that Yes is in bold beside all the 'Allow bb code ... ' statements.

    Any problems, please PM me.
