Hi,
this morning a got a phonecall from the assistant (ortho office). She asked me if everything is ok, if i would need anything. That was very nice and gave me some support!
Lip balm and salt water really help making life in braces easier! Although i am still in conflict with wax and flossing its the first day that i can imagine to get used to the whole treatment. I have the impression that my gum is extra sensible, I still use mainly drinks, eating is too much discomfort. But step by step it gets better, I only woke up twice this night! Tomorrow I will be back to work - lets see!!

Great that you're starting to feel better Brace. Most people adjust within a few days, but some people do have more sensitive mouths and it can take a little longer, but the good news is that you will adjust. Keep using wax, rinsing with salt water, using plenty of lip balm, drinking loads of water and eating soft foods and trying cut up pieces of 'real' food. Hopefully you'll be surprised at how soon this will all be a distant memory!

Flossing can be difficult when you have braces, but if you use a floss designed for use with braces, like oral b superfloss, with practise it will get easier. Also remind yourself of why flossing is so important, and that you never want to put your teeth at risk after having ortho treatment, so you never want gum disease.

Sending positive thoughts your way, that everything feels great really soon!

That is nice that they called! Glad it is getting better. Hopefully you can eat "real food" like normal again.

Thats great! I remember it took me a whole week to get used to my braces. And about 1 and 1/2 weeks before i could even play my flute! I didn't eat "normal food" for what felt like forever but then it felt like braces were just part of my life. Well, The hard parts over so good luck back at work
