2 weeks into treatment a ligature popped off and the wire popped off of one bracket. I called and saw the orthodontist 10 minutes later. (His office is literally 2 minutes away from my house).

I had my first adjustment this morning. I didn't know what to expect, so it was all new to me.

My dentist took off the ligatures, the wire, looked around a bit. Then placed new ligs and wires on. I thought there would be more to it, but no. I only felt pain when we tightened the wires on the tooth where I had a root canal about a month ago. That tooth is still very sensitive. He said my clear ligatures did stain just a little. I didn't notice the difference until I looked in the mirror and saw how white the new ones were. After seeing this, I will stop drinking my favorite drinks --Dr. Pepper and iced tea which contribute to staining. This past month, I just cut back on those drinks, but it wasn't enough.

I have been using sensodyne toothpaste, but I don't notice any differences in my sensitivity levels. I wil continue to use it for another month and adjust from there. I also purchased the Oral B superfloss and ACT bubblegum mouthwash. I saw how much it was mentioned on this site so I went and bought my own. Flossing is still a pain, sometimes my teeth are sooo close together i struggle to get the floss between the teeth. But the next day my teeth may have moved slightly and the floss goes in easy. Braces are weird. Im used to it now though. I floss only at the nighttime, at my next cleaning I'll see if thats enough. I sure hope so.

Right now my teeth are DEFINITELY moving...I love noticing even the smallest changes. But they hurtttt. I've gotten plenty of recipes for homemade smoothies as they will be my source of protein for this week.

DAY 1


AFTER 1st ADJUSTMENT (1 MONTH OF TREATMENT) The only thing i notice is my canine on the right isn't sticking out as much &the canine on the left has moved down a bit. But what you can't see is that my gaps from the extractions (which were on the sides) are getting smaller and smaller!
