Hi guys! Just a little update...I went back to the ortho today. Changed out my upper power chain and all that regular stuff. I am having an issue with a back molar on my left side. It appears to be moving "up" too far. I noticed I couldn't floss without causing my gum to bleed and there didn't seem to be much room to take the floss up inbetween and always made it bleed. He said that usually he doesn't bracket back molars on adults but he wants to bracket upper and lower back molar on the left side to straighten out this issue. I'm sure it's causing food to trap and that's why I'm bleeding. I am not looking forward to that, the tech said i'll be pretty sore because those last molars are tough ones to budge. That's set for next visit in 6 weeks. The other change is that my bite is looking wonderful, he is very pleased because he said he rarely sees movement/improvement to a bite like that in adults without taking out a tooth! That makes me happy I am still wearing a rubber band 24/7 on my left side, upper canine to 2nd to last molar and I only have to do the triangle configuration at night on my right side!
Thank goodness!!! I hated the triangle shape!!!
So...all is well...these new teeth are coming together well! I am not letting myself think about getting them off yet---am just too worried it won't be ready...and if so...will be fine...I want them on as long as it takes to get this done right! (can't help but feel a glimmer of excitement though...after 14 months of an 18 months sentence.... )

Great that your bite has improved so well Candy!

I think you have the right attitude and one I've had to come to grips with. We all know our treatment will be over ... and we all want it sooner rather than later, but we have to accept that it's going to take as long as it does to get the best possible outcome.

Good luck with your molars. I have brackets on my second molars on one side and it did cause some discomfort when they were first put on, mostly due to there being so little space back there. Wax was my best friend for a few weeks. Cleaning around that back area was a challenge ... the floss just seemed to get lost back there, but eventually it all came together with practise and until I read your post I'd forgotten about this stuff.

Good luck with continuing great progress!
