Hi everyone.....I am so happy that the pain from the actual braces has subsided....9 days in. Still suffering with this awful canker sore though...still using the wax and have my orajel at all times. It's in the worst spot too, my upper canine teeth are higher (the part I hate MOST) and where they protrude with the bracket on is where the stupid ulcer is. Sometime it literally makes my eyes water. In the morning, I have to literally hang my head over the sink and let the drool run out as it hurts to move my lips to swallow. LOL---it is not a pretty sight! Thank goodness I get up before my honey! It should heal soon doing all the right stuff. Anyway, my actual point for writing was to tell you I have slight gaps in my lower (straight) ...kind of funny to see really, and they are feeling looser. One of my front teeth seems to be a little lower than my other one--not to happy about that, but I guess that's just all part of it. It always overlapped it slightly, like it wants to turn in, but didn't. Hope this goes away, kinda makes me look more snaggly than usual.
Oh, and went to a meeting with all my co-workers....introduced the new me, so glad that's over with. I hate having to explain it to every one each time!! Have a wonderful night ya'll!

So sorry you still have the nasty mouth sore, hopefully the wax and gel will make sure it's gone for good very soon. Also warm salt water rinses will help your with the healing and soothe your mouth.

Often the changes appear worse before they get better, so please don't worry about things that don't look to great yet. It's excellent that you can see progress after nine days ... that's fast!

Here's to more progress ... and no sores!

Hi Candy, I generally take Zinc (a mineral) when I have canker sores and that usually helps. Not certain its going to work in your case but its worth speaking to your pharmacist, orthodontist or other health care provider about.

Good luck with the sore, I hope it heals soon.

Canker sores are HORRRIBLE! The wax always works for me (temporarily), if anything. Good luck! I'm going to have to try zinc like bracedhonda suggested, that's a good idea!

Candy, I also forgot to tell you that Clove oil is also good to put onto the canker sore - even still Zinc in the morning and at night is my best pain relief - works wonders and heals the wound in a couple of days. I learned this from a pharmacist
