Hi guys, well...my journey has finally come to an end. My braces were taken off today : ) I had a great day, took the whole day off, got my hair done, got the braces off, bought some make up, new outfits...I have been waiting for this day and I treated myself a little! I add a couple of pics to an album, my before pics are dotted throughout my blog..I would add them to the album, but I am a little tired, even though I cant sleep--excited about work tomorrow....I got a ton of compliments today ...
Hi everyone, I went my "who knows what" number appointment...maybe 13th? and they did my xrays--everything looks great, all the roots are lined up and straight...they took off my power chain, top and bottom, and just did regular ligs after he made a slight bend to both wires. I am returning in 3 weeks to check/fix for any gaps that may open up with losing the power chain (sniff, miss it already..they are achey right now) and then a week after that----these babies are coming OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...
Hi everyone, went for my adjustment today...and great news...looks like I will be released 3 months early for good behavior!! LOL ((((DANCING)))) Todays visit was good, changed the wires, new power chains...back to bigger elastics in a large triangle shape on both canines to molars, just to hold in my bite...only have to wear them overnight though. He said next visit they will do xrays, and to expect them off the following visit. He said to schedule 4-6 weeks out, and so I asked the receptionist ...
Hi guys! Just a little update...I went back to the ortho today. Changed out my upper power chain and all that regular stuff. I am having an issue with a back molar on my left side. It appears to be moving "up" too far. I noticed I couldn't floss without causing my gum to bleed and there didn't seem to be much room to take the floss up inbetween and always made it bleed. He said that usually he doesn't bracket back molars on adults but he wants to bracket upper and lower back molar on the ...

AS always...before: sorry some are so big, I am losing patience with my pics...big changes in this one year...so happy I have some time under my belt now....estimated time is 18 months, but we'll see. That would put me out of them in July..who knows! Canines are down, teeth are generally straight, but need some filing and all that..I am going in tomorrow for adjustment...thicker wires and ...
Not too bad of an appointment today. I have taken Advil, so not feeling too bad right now. I got my power chain back! YAY! They took it off last visit as they repositioned a bracket, and because of that, they had to give me a thinner wire so my bracket wouldn't pop off. As if getting the power chain back on is not enough, my upper and lower wires went back to a thicker size and I am back in elastics 24 hours a day again. I'm sure by tonight I will be feeling it a little more...but so far so good. ...

Treatment is going really well! The rubber bands I started wearing 6 weeks ago have done major changes to my bite and he is pretty clear in that surgery is not the correct route and neither is extractions...the rubber bands are doing what he wants them to do. He is still focused on bringing my upper teeth back a little more. We discussed IPR on some of the teeth, by shaving a little amount, he says he will be able to bring them back just that little more extra that he needs. The tech put a power ...
Just wanted to put some pics up to document my progress at this point! Before 6.5 mos 5 months 5 months ...
Hi everyone...just an update. I went to my ortho on Monday and had a productive visit. As I expected he started me on rubber bands. Those little beasts are quite painful! I have had a difficult few days! I am glad to have them as I hear they can work wonders with bite issues. Today is not so bad and I am doing a little better. I have to wear them 24 hours a day unless brushing/eating. I have been leaving them in while eating and only taking them out to brush and floss though, and then I put them ...
Okay so...I will never ever complain about a normal dental cleaning again...they can pick and scrap all they want to but the thought of having that awful sandblasting mix of baking soda and water and air again makes me CRINGE! My 10 year old hated it when she had her braces on and they did that...I just patted her leg and said "now now..it's fine...be a big girl.." Yesterday she said "MOM--I told you didn't I?" I took my 5 year old along with me as her appointment was ...
This is before braces and the latest taken just now, right after my 2nd adjustment. I got them on Jan 2nd, and today is April 20th some more--- As you ...
Hi everyone, I was just browsing and happened to see that I'm a winner!!! I am so super excited! Thank you so much!!! okay, so almost in to week 13. (3 months sounds better)... I have had a rough week, three cankers sores have formed into one big giant sore on my right side, and has prevented me from smiling, eating, talking--the works..my own fault though...lesson to self, chewing sugar free gum, while acceptable, is not a smart idea because it can cause you to bite your face off. ...
Having a down day today, my bite has been getting worse as expected, but when I took pictures today you can see just how bad. He is going to work on my bite this summer with bands and we expected it to get worse as I had upper crowding and bringing them in line is causing them to go out. Since I am not having extractions or surgery, the bands will bring it more into the bite that I had (only slight overbite) versus what I have now. You can see how much they have changed since January, but goodness, ...
