I'm Braced

I'm officially part of the club here as I got my first round of braces started this afternoon.

I'm not going to bore you with details as we kinda all BTDT. I'm just finding it interesting to eat due to having a Lap-Band that creates a need to chew my food very well and braces that make chewing difficult at the moment. I know I'll adapt.

The plan is to start on the top, I'll eventually get the metal ones in the back on top followed by full metal on the bottom.

Here is my picture from today. It's embarrassing as I hate my teeth but I guess that's the point. I picked the dark pink ties as it's my 5 year old's favorite color.

    Fantastic Carrie and the pink ligs look great!

    Definitely don't be concerned about how your teeth look with the folk on this forum, as we've all had problems with our teeth/bite/smile.

    Keep practising with chewing and here's to that being fine very soon!

    Hi Carrie!

    I love the pink o-rings. Just knew that clear braces go well with coloured ligatures. I will be getting my ice braces next week, and to be honest, you boost my confidence. Getting braces is not that bad.

    Thanks for the words of confidence. I've had 2 high risk pregnancies in the past 5 years. This is the first thing I've done for ME. So I'm proud to have whatever will make my smile pretty in my mouth. It's the first step down the road is the way I see it and I'm smiling big.

    I love the pink bands, pinks my favourite colour too. I have the clear ceramics but have never been brace enough to have the coloured bands. They look great

    is it just me or is there a bracket missing on one of the front teeth??

    I'm not sure why Carrie doesn't have a bracket on that incisor, but I didn't have one on a lower teeth for quite a few months due to it being so rotated, the rest of my teeth needed to aligne to make space.

    I'm sure her orthodontist didn't forget ...

    WOW om so excited to be getting the braces on, 2.5 weeks to go! I wonder if they would mind if I took pics/video tape while the put them on. Want to get more info out on the damon clear.
    Here is to 2.5 weeks going by fast..
