Hi So this will be my blog to help me keep up with my progress and share it with others. I received my first set of aligners on Tuesday January 3, 2012. They were tight at first and I think it shocked me how much they hurt in the beginning. The pain was not unbearable I took some asprin and it was fine. I do not think it was the actual pain that shocked me, but I think I did not prepare myself of how much of a change it will be. The "pain" only lasted two days on and off. ...
I am getting my braces done at the University Orthodontist Clinic. My biggest problem was my upper canine tooth. I joined this forum, hopefully there are enough people active on here to get advice and ask questions. On November 30th, 2011 I got the brackets put in. I need 4 extractions so they did not put the wires in. After the brackets were put in, they took me upstairs to the Oral Surgery Clinic to make an appointment for the extractions on December 12th. Wow, this was painful ...

Hello. I'm Micki. Today is my first day of Invisalign treatment. This is my second time in orthodontia. My first time was 10 years ago. I had traditional braces. When I got those taken off, I had small spaces in between my back teeth. I should have known...I should have known.... Next thing I know my teeth started to go back to their original spots. THREE retainers later...I decided to get Invisalign and a new ortho. I have a serious overbite that was ...
I seem to be doing much better, already feels like I have been in my braces for a long time, no problems. I haven't even had my first adjustment yet, but I have not had to use wax or had any mouth sores, I am so happy about that. What I cant stand is eating, It seems like such a process to get all the food out from around the brackets. It defiantly is a good way to not eat so many sweets because after one cookie I am like that is it, I just want to get them clean again. I still have a hard time ...
Ok so on 9/15/11 I went in for my braces appointment. When I first got there they took several pictures of my face, smile, teeth, etc, they made molds of my teeth which did not bother me like it did some people because I have had these done before when getting a night guard made, I knew what to expect. My advice is don't think about it and breath through your nose it only takes a minute each time. After this they went ahead and started to fit me for my molar bands, this was NOT fun for me at all! ...
hi everyone so I'm starting an invisalign blog about my experience with it. I know there are already so many of them out there so I don't really expect any one to read mine I'm more so doing it for mown enjoyment. so I'll start by telling u a little bit about myself. tomorrow I'll be 15. I'll be a sophomore in highschool. I play soccer and am in the drama club (weird combination I know). and I hate my teeth! so I just started invisalign on Monday aug. 28. ...
I hate my teeth soo much, even though everyone says they look fine, I can see faults in the positioning of them. My front teeth stick out slightly, the incisors are too far back and my canines stick so far out you almost can't see the rest of my teeth! And that’s only my top row of teeth. On the bottom row, the front teeth overlap slightly and a molar at the back sticks out towards my tongue?! So, about a year and a half ago (?) my dentist made a referral to the local orthodontist, ...
In today’s busy world where Dental Professionals are required to keep abreast of professional developments, there is one place they can go to view hundreds of Dental Implant CE courses. For Dentists in the USA, the site provides information about what courses are running and where. Access to general dental and dental implant continuing education course information has never been easier CE Diary Dentistry was founded by Dr. Patrick Caldwell, an experienced Endodontist, and was launched ...
So, it's been about a month since I got my braces on, and I've already noticed improvement. I got them on the 17th of June, and that was a nightmare. I barely ate anything for a week. I had the bracket and two ligatures pop off within 24 hours of getting them, so they reattached that and put on all new ligatures. I'm guessing that's what it feels like when you get your braces tightened because they were sore (again) for a week after. ...

Although I got my metal braces on last November, I feel like starting a blog! My next appointment in on Monday, wonder what will happen... Anyway, I got to go now, I'll post more info + pics tomorrow.
Totally excited about getting started with braces After having overbite for all these years, I'm finally getting something done about it. I was supposed to get braces as a pre-teen, but all the hassle with the stuff I had to go through before I could get the actual braces on, made me quit before I got them on. I remember having a terrible apparatus attached to my molars and strapped around my head at night, and a palate retainer, which I think I also had to wear at night. These contraptions only ...

so... I would of started this when i got spacers in, but i didn't know about it. well better late then never. ok so here i go. i am 25. i had rubber band spacers put in 3 1/2 weeks ago. 1 1/2 weeks ago i had those taken out and damon brackets put in on lower and upper. nothin special, just the brackets and the wire. a couple days later i had the infamous dream that half my braces fell out along with one of my teeth. (scary) three days ago one of my ...
So today was the day that I got my braces. First things first, everyone that said the spacers were the worst part were right. What they didn't tell you about were the molar bands. Now, everyone doesn't have to get molar bands and if you are one of those lucky ones, say an extra prayer tonight. They hurt, but it is temporary because the bands are smaller than the spacers, but if your teeth are sore from the spacers, it sucks. The good news is that once they find the size, they will glue them ...
Yup, I'm up at 4 am but the pain is manageable. Even though it seems like it isn't (especially since I'm up this early), it is. My pain moves in wavelengths. It starts off as a dull pain and then when it crests the pain tends to shoot and then it goes back down to the dull pain. I visualize it as my teeth have shifted and are settling into their new space, then they start to move some more (the sharp pain) and then they start to settle and the cycle begins all over again. I actually fell asleep ...
