Yup, I'm up at 4 am but the pain is manageable. Even though it seems like it isn't (especially since I'm up this early), it is. My pain moves in wavelengths. It starts off as a dull pain and then when it crests the pain tends to shoot and then it goes back down to the dull pain. I visualize it as my teeth have shifted and are settling into their new space, then they start to move some more (the sharp pain) and then they start to settle and the cycle begins all over again. I actually fell asleep ...
I had my spacers put on all of an hour and a half ago and they hurt less now that they did when I had them placed on. The ortho did allow me to take Motrin right before they were put on and I think that helped because as I was driving home I noticed that there was no pain. They did say that the pain would kick in by tomorrow morning and that if I had to have something stronger they would call in a prescription. I don't even notice them for now, but I do think that they may give me a headache because ...
Hi I am new to invisalign, currently only on my 3rd week and my 2nd tray. I have been meticulously brushing and flossing my teeth after all meals and cleaning my trays with 3% hydrogen peroxide and rinsing thoroughly. However I was alarmed to look in the mirror today and notice what looks like decay on some of my molars. They were white before I started treatment and now one looks black and one brown/flaky on the sides between the next tooth. I had to gave IPR on some of my teeth. ...
I am 20 yrs old. I have an underbite that I hate so much. I hate taking pictures and I hate smiling. I was wondering if there is anywhere I could find someone free to fix my problem. I want to be able to smile and just look happy and speak clearly. Everytime I eat my jaw cracks and then my jaw becomes in pain. I need help. I just want to look normal and not be picked on anymore.
Hello all! I just discovered this website and I am so glad I could ask questions here and I am hoping for some answers because evidently I am in a big mess!! My ortho discovered I had impacted canines and she exposed them and I had worn braces for an year. Unfortunately I had to discontinue the treatment in my country as I had to move to America for my further education. Long story short, I have exposed canines without braces! My question is how long will it take for ...
Hi, I have had my braces for 13 months and the ortho said I should have them on for 18 months and I have rubber bands. It is the second time I have had rubber bands. I wear them 24/7 and I do everything I am supposed to do. I have power chains on the top. I only have my rubber bands on the right side. I am really ready to get them off and my teeth look perfect. Can anyone tell me how much longer I might have them?????? Thanks!!
Hi everyone My name is Elle. I am 32 getting braced for the 2nd time December 16th, 2010. Ceramic uppers, metal lowers, will have forsus springs for a lot of treatment to correct severe overbite. History - I was a thumbsucker until I was around 10 and then I got a retainer for awhile to correct overbite (I don't recall how well that worked) - Had braces for up to 2 years, removed when I was 13. I think I wore my retainers until around 20ish ...
So on Wednesday it will be three weeks since I've had my upper linguals applied, and Im getting a little discouraged. Most of the pain has gone away, its easier to eat, and my tongue is okay...but talking is still an issue. It seems like its impossible to talk normally; I have to consciously think about how to form and move my tongue and which words to use and it still seems like I have a bit of a lisp. I hate having to worry about talking, especially words with s's. I dont feel like myself much ...
Hi All, When I floss I notice that the space between my teeth has gotten wider, it's not noticeable, but I can tell. Is this normal? Happy Saturday!! C
I'm sure this is kinda normal, but I've noticed the tooth next to my middle teeth on the left getting pretty loose! So I'm a little worried. I've read about it online, but was wondering how loose is acceptable? I can see it move when I push on it! I need to stop touching it I think, but its hard, especially if I'm bored at work or something. I think I'll call my ortho tomorrow just to make sure that everything is going okay. Also I'm already almost out of wax! perhaps I'm using ...
Well ive now had my expanding retainer in for 6weeks.... Things are certainly starting to move. I can feel a real difference when i remove my retainer. My bite has completely changed and feels weird. Not really noticing to many changes from the front veiw tho. Ive been suffering with really sore heads for the past week. My dentist says it is likely to be the retainer that is causing it because my teeth are starting to move. I cant seem to take anything to get rid of the pain Does ...
Hi all, Should I be concerned? my ortho checked my progress and said that she was not goign to do anything until tray 6. I asked if not having the attachment would hinder the progress and she said no, they assist, but they're not necessary for me at this point. Is this normal procedure? Thank you!! Claudia
Once my trays get "loose" the sharp edges cut my tongue and it's pretty anoying Is wax something I can buy at a pharmacy? Thanks all!
Hi! Has anyone experience increased sensitivity after wearing the trays for more than 6 hr straight? it happened to me today. I'm on my 2n trays (4th day). I was wondering if it was normal. Sensitivity went away about 15 min....I ate my lunch very slowy Thanks for any feedback!!
Hi, My dentist told me that I'll be getting my attachments this coming Friday along w the 2nd trays. She also said that depending on week's two progress, I'd change the trays every 10 days instead of 14. Is this ok to do? would that move my teeth too fast? not to mention the pain!! Has anyone else been able to switch trays in 10 days? Thanks!! C
