  1. First Adjustment!

    by , 05-14-2013 at 05:05 AM
Yep! Already 5 weeks down! lol. It seems to have gone slow though and I had been waiting for my first adjustment for what seemed forever! lol

It wasn't really painful, more just pressure when the ortho was taking the ligs off the teeth and also putting them back on. Its like he knew which tooth would cause me pain as when I made a "arghh" and he would go "yes i thought so!" lol.

I got a new thicker wire on the bottom, but kept the same wire on top, ...
  2. A month down!

    by , 05-12-2013 at 07:37 AM
I have had my braces for over a month now and my first adjustment is on tuesday! YAY! looking forward to seeing my orthodontist and what he has to say and getting some new wires and baby pink ligs hehehe. I am excited for some colour!

Anyway, I was sitting here and decided to take a pic of my upper arch to see the difference so far and wow... it shocked me! I LOVE IT and cannot believe the progress in just one month.

The top pic is before any orthodontic work or extractions, ...

  3. Tray 9....last of the single digits!

by , 05-07-2013 at 07:23 PM (My Invisalign Journey (aka my 2nd time around with braces))
Switched to Tray 9 after dinner tonight. Yay! The LAST of the single digits...woo hoo!!!

This set was much easier to get on than Tray 8 was, so I feel good that things are tracking well. It makes me feel better because Tray 8 lowers were very difficult to get on the first day. I'm happy to report that my "fang" is much less fang-y now. It's finally being pulled down (extruded?) into a less noticeable position. It's also been pushed in a little, so it ...

  4. Tray 1 (first days, no pain)

by , 05-05-2013 at 12:49 PM (Invisalign experience)
Well, it's now two days since I got my invisalign first tray put on. I thought it would be worst, much wosrt!

I have no trouble at all: only two pieces of thin plastic around my teeth, no pain, no salivation, no more lisp. Are theese first trays only to adapt and get used to Invisalign?

Anyway, the only negative fact is the need to remove them to eat and the extra time needed for the hygene (but the positive side effect of this is obvious!).

    All in all: ...

  5. Tray 14

by , 05-01-2013 at 10:19 PM (Take Two: My Second Go at a Straighter Smile)
Had my orthodontist checkup yesterday afternoon. The longest part was waiting for the ortho to come check my teeth (he's always busy!) but I was able to catch up with the assistant, who is super nice. She said she noticed my smile has improved a lot, and it was then I realized I've had Invisalign for 6 months - half a year!! She showed me my Clincheck from different angles, starting at the beginning and going to now (well, end of Tray 13), and showing what my next three trays should do.

  6. Invisalign - Tray 1

    by , 04-22-2013 at 09:44 PM
On April 19th, I got my first tray in!
I have a total of 18 Upper and 22 Lower (4 attachments). I started with my lowers and 2 months later I will start my uppers.

    Comfort Level
For some reason I dont feel much pain with the aligners on. I wish I did so that I know its working. Taking the aligners off is a pain though cause it feel like I am about to break them. This is my 4th day and I see that the inside layer is kind of peeling. Definitely need to call tmr ...

  8. Picture time.....

    by , 04-18-2013 at 12:42 AM
    Hi folks,

Time for another update :). On my last update I mentioned how hard it was to get trays on especially over one particular sticky outty tooth. Well thankfully this tooth has finally shifted in its correct place :D The difference it makes to gettingy trays on and off is huge - am really loving the changes I am seeing now. Am on tray 23 of 52 now and so far am delighted with the changes I have seen. As you will see from the photos my teeth were extremely bad, they still have ...

  9. Tray 5 and 5 Updates

    by , 04-17-2013 at 09:58 PM
Not too much to report. I'm on Tray 5 currently and I'm not seeing much of a difference in my teeth. With all of my excitement of checking out Tray 6 and seeing a big difference in my front tooth, I'm wondering when all of that movement will happen. Or maybe I'm just crazy and it's really not that big of a move?

The few updates that I do have to report...
    1. I have been out to eat a few times and it's really not that big of a deal. I brushed once in the bathroom and another ...

  10. Tray 13: The Teenager Stage!

by , 04-17-2013 at 04:15 PM (Take Two: My Second Go at a Straighter Smile)
Yes, I can finally say that I am an Invisalign teenager! I made it to 13! I have my next appointment in a couple of weeks to get the next set of trays.

When I put in my trays last night, I was worried that one tooth would have root pain like at the beginning of Tray 12. But surprisingly, I woke up this morning with only minor soreness, and that was on other teeth. That tooth must have just moved a lot last tray, and this tray other ones are moving.

    Also, I was glad ...

  11. Braced to the max!

    by , 04-09-2013 at 10:43 PM
This morning I got my bottom brackets wired up and I even got 4 molar bands on the bottom! I got 2 molars banded and also 2 incisors, he banded those so that when it is time to make my retainer, he wont have to remove the brackets and then measure the bands and then put the brackets back on, he said it makes it easier and less time :) YAY!

I am in agony... the bottom teeth are hurting SO MUCH MORE than the top teeth. In happier news, he said he can see movement happening in the ...

  12. Tray 7

by , 04-09-2013 at 11:58 AM (My Invisalign Journey (aka my 2nd time around with braces))
Tray 6 was such an easy tray. No problem going on, no problem taking off. Just an easy comfortable time. Boy, do I miss Tray 6! Tray 7 was very difficult to put on. This tray is starting to move my jacked up left canine (upper) and, man-oh-man, do I feel it!!! The only way I could get the tray on was to bite on a chewie. It finally clicked into place (after feeling like my attachments were going to rip off). Lower tray was a piece of cake, thankfully!

    I'm happy to report ...

  13. Tray 12

by , 04-06-2013 at 08:34 PM (Take Two: My Second Go at a Straighter Smile)
Well, I'm a few days late in posting, but I've been busy. Between school, craziness at work, preparing for a dance event next week, and life in general, I haven't had a chance to compose something for you all.

I changed to Tray 12 after dinner Tuesday night. The next morning, my teeth were sore, but (as you may have seen in a forum post), the tooth with the messed up attachment hurt significantly more than any other teeth, hurt more than any tooth since starting Invisalign, and ...

Final tray! In the mouth! Video for your entertainment.

    Final tray! - YouTube

What i didn't cover in the video was that it was just like any other appt, i went in. Got my final trays, we had a bit of a mini celebration being the final ones. I told him about my canine not exactly straight and the black triangles. He said we will do refinements and IPR will fix it up. I also explained that i feel we can do better, he agreed. You can clearly see (not from the video, they ...

  15. Anxious...

    by , 04-02-2013 at 01:22 AM
Ok, so three days till I get my brackets on and I am freaking out.

I am anxious and scared and maybe a TINY bit excited but its more like 80% scared and 20% excited lol. I think its cos I have had to wait so long. ALSO i have a party to go to on the weekend and I would of been ok to go if I had had all my archwire in etc, but I am just getting the brackets and the archwire goes in next Wednesday so i feel like I will just look like my teeth have bits of metal on but no wire and I ...
