Well, I just had my first non-eventful adjustment today. No change to the top at all, except to replace my clear ligs. I don't think the others stained at all in the 3 weeks I had them.

New wire on the bottom - .018 x .025. I have no idea what that is, but the assistant said, "Movin' on up!" I also asked him if he could file down a pointy edge I had on one of my bottom central incisors. It was very sharp and pointed up very noticeably. He said he could round it out, but didn't want to file anything else down until the teeth are aligned properly. (He said about 1 or 2 more wires more.)

On my way out, I asked how long it was going to take for my upper left canine was going to move over to its proper place. He laughed and said, "A LOOOOOOONG time!" He said it had to move about halfway into the extraction gap space (which is huge), and I almost died. My midline doesn't seem like more than a millimeter or so off, so that seemed like a lot. He laughed again and said, "Stop asking so many questions!" (SEE! I told y'all he doesn't like questions.) His wife laughed and said, "Where else can you go to get abused so early in the morning?"

At my next visit, I'm going to attempt to not ask any questions. Wish me luck! haha

Perhaps you'll have to sew your mouth shut to avoid asking questions, eh, Cathy?!

Congrats on moving to the next wire - and don't let them psyche you out on the time table issue. The ortho's idea of a LOOOONG time is usually measured in months. That tooth will be where it needs to be before you know it, and then you'll probably miss the gap. See what happens to us after 40?! No pleasing me, that's for sure...

    Enjoy your weekend!

    Thanks, PM!!

You know me too well already... trouble is, if I sew my mouth shut, they can't work on my teeth! I did comment to his wife that "I think adults are worse than kids," and she replied, "Oh, they sure are!" It was all said in jest, though. I think he'll miss my questions if I stop asking them.

I just noticed that she attached my band differently from the way he did last month. She actually forgot to put it back on completely, and he told her "You need to reattach that band like it was before". When he did it, it was around the whole canine bracket and stretched to the back tooth. Today, she just attached it to the hook and back. Not sure if that makes a big difference, and I'm also not sure if I should say anything, especially after the "no more questions" comment. I think I'll just leave it alone this time. haha

You all have a great weekend, too! I'm off to the movies (and YES, I'm going to eat popcorn very carefully).
