It's official! August 15th is THE DAY!

I will definitely be getting debraced on the 15th! He did a little IPR on my front incisors and gave me 2 powerchains to speed up the gap closure. He also tweaked my lower wire a bit, but all in all, I think he's pleased enough with my progress that he won't feel horrible taking them off. I will be getting an Essix retainer on top and just a permanent retainer on the bottom. The Essix will be ready the same day, which works out great, since my cleaning appt. will be next door that afternoon.

Right now, I have an absolutely splitting headache from the double chain (which I asked for, by the way). My front teeth feel like they did when I first got braced. But I'm not complaining one bit.

    Congratulations! I just got braces 2 days ago and I'm already tired of them LOL. I know you must be super excited to be reaching the end of your braces journey :-)

    WHOOHOOO, let the countdown begin. The next 1.5 weeks will FLY BY!!! Hope your headache goes away, just think soon you will be brace free and eating corn on the cob and popcorn and sticky candy. Its like we have forgotten what normal life is like.

    I am getting the permanent on the bottom only too and it makes me nervous but it seems to be the thing to do now a days, I wish I had an essix too. I get hawley on top because that's what he prefers so that it is.

    Thanks, ladies! Don't worry, I will definitely be hanging around for a while afterward. I need SOMEWHERE to complain about retainers, don't I?

    My headache is gone, but I had to go a couple of nights without my elastics because my teeth hurt too much. That felt SOOOO good! I think I'm looking forward more to not wearing elastics, than anything else.

    @MakeKeyOver - You're not allowed to be sick of them until you've had them in at least a month. You need to experience elastics, staining ligs, pokey wires and ulcers inside your mouth. LOL!
