6 months!

Wow. So I haven't been online much in the past few months. My braces treatment is going pretty well. My teeth have made a ridiculous amount of improvement. Yesterday was 6 months, which means only 6-8 more months to go. I'm shooting for only 6 more, but we'll see. My next adjustment is November 5, at which point I'll be getting those little rubber band thingys. Definitely not looking forward to that. They seem like such an inconvenience, and I don't even know what they do. My open bite/vertical gap is closing nicely. I can actually bite with my front teeth, something I've never been able to do. It does feel really strange when my top teeth touch my bottom ones. I'm not use to it yet. Well that's pretty much all that is new. Here are some pictures I took today.

Great to read that your progress is continuing to go well Cellardoor!
 Elastics can do many things to assist the archwires in achieving the bite you require. Be positive about them, as they usually don't take more than a day or two to adjust to and then with a little discipline, it's a matter of making sure you wear them as your orthodontist has instructed. I've been wearing elastics for over two years and keep a small wax container (empty and cleaned) in my pocket with spare elastics in it. This way there's never any excuse not to have them in my mouth, if an elastic should break. Great that your bite is continuing to come together and close. With elastics, both these areas can be improved, as it's important for your teeth not to meet edge to edge, but to get your upper teeth slightly in front of your lowers ... into a class I relationship. You've got the exact same braces as I do lol. Don't ya hate those little crimped things that they put on the wire?
