Words of encouragement

Posted 05-10-2008 at 01:45 PM by cellardoor
Every morning when I wake up, I realize that my bite has changed a little. The most significant, and the most important, change is that my top teeth are coming down to close that vertical gap. Today my boyfriend commented on how much my teeth have improved. I've been so concerned about my top teeth that I didn't even notice that my bottom teeth have moved too! One tooth that was behind the others is now in line. I am so incredibly happy about this. The best part is that my braces have only been...

another emergency appointment

Posted 05-09-2008 at 01:21 AM by cellardoor
Today I had to go back to my ortho because the bottom wire popped out of the bracket. Fortunately, they were able to see me right away but I had to go to their office in the next town. I missed work tonight because of it. Oh well. I needed to get that wire back in place.

Hopefully I won't have to go back until my adjustment next month!

Movements!

A couple of days ago, an upper tooth moved into a new position! I'm not sure if this is normal because it happened so suddenly. I didn't think I would actually be able to feel my teeth moving. My mouth feels so strange. I think I see some improvements, but I'm not really sure. I hope what I'm experiencing is supposed to happen. Another tooth is really sore when pressure is applied. I'm concerned about that as well. The good news is that I'm becoming a master at flossing. Practice does make perfect!...

First week complete

Posted 04-23-2008 at 07:08 PM by cellardoor
I can't believe it's only been a week since I got braces. It feels like I've had them on my teeth for years, and I'm ready to be done! Fortunately, the awful pain and discomfort I was experiencing has gone away. I'm assuming it'll come back in 7 weeks when I go for my first adjustment. I'm able to eat regular foods now. I don't have any cuts or sores any my mouth (I was really worried about that). So overall, things are going pretty well with my braces.

But the flossing is still...
