I had my ortho appointment yesterday to move to tray 12. (22T/14B trays needed in total.) Anyway, I thought this was going to be a quick visit just to get another set of trays, but the tech told me that I would need filing for the first time. I saw my paperwork and sure enough, it showed 2 filings before tray 12, 1 before tray 13, and 1 before tray 15. So my ortho comes over, checks my teeth and says he isn't going to file because I have normal spacing between them and he may just file at the next ...
I changed to tray #4 last night. These seem to fit much better than the previous tray and my teeth aren't very sore at all. They snap into place easily... no having to bend them to snap onto the other side like the last ones. They would be my easiest trays if it weren't for me having to change to extra strong elastics this time for my bite. It's extremely hard to talk... like the first day you get your trays. Anyways, I just wanted to check in with these trays. I'm trying to stay up to date on my ...
Well I went back to the ortho today to get my attachments put on.... 10 top and 9 bottom. I was in the chair with my mouth forced open for almost 2 hours! The appointment was only suppose to be an hour, but I guess that many attachments took longer than they thought. They also installed hooks for the elastics, which I didn't even know I was getting at this point. I was originally told it would be done later in the treatment. Anyway, they had me try to take out the trays by myself while I was there ...
I switched to my 3rd trays on Wednesday night and I have to say, they aren't that bad at all. Of course these have the spaces for the buttons on the top, which take some getting use to and they make my braces FAR more visable. I get my buttons attached on March 4. I guess the rest of my year will suck.. lol. On a side note, my bottom trays will be done in July. Does anyone know if they will go ahead and remove my bottom buttons while my top ones finish their trays? I would think ...
Well, I switched to my 2nd trays last night and I really had forgotten how tight they start out. I was just so use to being able to pop them in and out and they weren't tight anymore so I would forget I even had them in. Of course this set has the bump outs for the attachments on the bottom set which is hard to get adjusted to. My ortho's office said they do that so you can get use to the feel before you actually have the buttons put on your teeth. I have 8 spaces for buttons on the bottom and God ...
I was looking at trays 2 and 3 that my ortho sent home with me and noticed they have spaces for attachments which I don't have yet. They made an appointment for me to have these put on after I have completed my 3rd tray, but I find it odd my next tray is expecting them. My first tray doesn't have any notches for the attachments so I'm wondering if my ortho overlooked this. I'm calling him tomorrow (if they're open b/c of the holiday) to make sure I won't need them put on before I move to tray 2. ...
Well, I'm about 7 hours into my first trays. I didn't get any attachments today, but when I go back in 6 weeks I am getting a lot of them from the looks of it. I found out I will need 22 trays on the top and 14 trays on the bottom so it's not nearly as bad as I had prepared myself. I also need to have elastics later on in my treatment to correct an alignment issue with my jaw.... yippee. Anyway, no lisp and no pain so far, just getting use to this new, strange feeling. I guess we'll see if my ...
My ortho's office left a message for me saying my aligners were "on their way" and to call back to set up an appointment. I called this morning and it is set up for Wednesday afternoon. I am leaving work to get this done and returning to work afterwards. I'm really hoping all goes well. I have read lots of posts on this and it sounds like it really is a case by case basis whether it goes well or not. I haven't spoken to the dr. since I had my molds done so I have no idea what to expect ...
I begin my Invisalign treatment next week and am looking forward to it. Not the lifestyle change I'll have to make in order to get through it of course, but I can't wait to have the beautiful smile I've wanted my entire life.
