Hi everyone.
I am 29 years old and had been embarassed about my fron tooth for as long as I can remember. So for my birthday present before I hit the big 30 I got braces. While my ortho advised me it will take about 18-24 months, ue to my military status I only have 13 months to get done what I need to get done. My ortho is prior service and thys very understanding. I am getting braces and amazing care at an amazing and cost effective prize, with the understanding that I will terminate in 13 months and continue with the retainers. I am very self concious and really trying to work past that.
My question however is that should I be worried that 7 days after the fact I am no longer in any pain? I thought pain was indicative of shifting and moving, and should have lasted the first couple of weeks, mine lasted days
Can my teeth still be moving while painless?

Oh yea. The adjustments hurt the most within the first week. But 4 weeks after my adjustment, my teeth are still moving. My bite, up until 4 days ago was hitting at the tips of the canines one side. Rest assure, theyre still moving. But also keep in mind, that the bone underneath the gums needs to heal as well in between adjustments. As your teeth move to the left, for example, the bone on the left receedes, and the bone to the right of the tooth grows to replace where the tooth used to be. So recovery is also important.
