Had another ortho appointment today. Two power chains on top and one on the bottom to close up my last two little gaps. I asked the tech today if this was the last thing we had to do and she said yes.

My main concern though is that I was talking to my sister and she said that she heard when the gaps are closed, sometimes they leave the braces on longer to make sure the teeth stay where they are. That doesn't make any sense to me, once the teeth are where they need to be, the retainers will keep them in place. I will be so sad if these gaps close up in the next 2-3 weeks and he tells me I have to leave these on for another few weeks! I am so excited to get them off!

Gorgeous!!! My eyes went directly to (1) the gap, because I am gap-obsessed, and (2) your midline, which is perfect, by the way. When you say 2 powerchains, do you mean 2 FULL powerchains on top, or one full one, and another smaller one over the gap to close it? I can see why you'd be done in a month or so. So excited for you!

Cathy I'm talking two FULL power chains on top. From one side all the way to the other. And one full one from one side all the way to the other on the bottom. I haven't had this much tooth and jaw pain in MONTHS. Show you how spoiled I've gotten with all my easy appointments!! I'm so way excited to get these suckers off. At least I'm pretty glad I can watch the progress and see, literally, how close I'm getting to the end. BTW I am also gap-obsessed and I'm also completely tooth obsessed!! When I see people all over I think 'oh man they need braces' or 'wow that is a TERRIBLE cross bite' or 'omg that midline is a crime'. My friend's 17 year old son was saying the other day that the dentist told him he didn't need braces. When he showed me his teeth I thought, holy crap you need a new dentist. That kids teeth are horrible. He has a slight cross bite, his midline is completely off, and they are all kinds of wonky.

I totally consider myself a tooth snob. Not that I actually say anything to anyone, but I do notice! Probably because I am completely obsessed with them since I have been going through so much pain and torture
