It's been a while since I've been on this site, but I thought I'd post a quick update. Had an ortho appointment this morning in which they put tooth 'putty' on my laterals. I got to see them without brackets and they were quite a bit smaller and misshapen compared to the rest of my teeth. Then, I got to see them after the putty and wow! All my teeth look straight and normal now! I never thought that would ever happen. Brackets went back onto the laterals, got a new c-chain (power chain), and now we're just closing up the gaps around the laterals and I'M DONE!! The ortho only wanted one c-chain on me this time, which disappointed me as I want the gaps to fill quicker but I think he might have been worried my teeth would move too fast. It's so amazing to look in the mirror and see a row of beautiful, straight, even teeth!

Oh one bad thing though, I have ceramics upper and lower and WOW did it hurt when taking the brackets off! I gasped out loud because it took me by such surprise. I was pretty sure my tooth was being ripped out of my head. I am preparing myself to be loaded up on pain meds before I go in for my debanding!

Looks great! Was that part of your treatment or did you have to pay extra for that?

It's part of my treatment, but it's temporary putty. The tech said it will last about a year, but I am going to my Dentist as soon as I can after my debanding to have this temp stuff taken off and the real stuff put on. The ortho said the Dentist can make it even prettier and nicer looking than what he did, he just needed the teeth built up to know how big the gaps needed to be to close up around them and make everything appear normal. My actual teeth are quite small and misshapen and frankly were a little gross to look at when they took the brackets off!
