Well after another crazy busy summer I am finally updating my blog with a pic.

I can't believe its been 300 days already, its feels like I just got them yesterday but also that I have had them forever and can't wait to get them off. I try not to think about them much but I know in the back of my mind its a huge reason why I don't feel as happy as I should and also I HATE SEEING PICTURES of how uncomfortable I look in pictures.

The last few adjustments have been the same, just a bit of tweaking, it never really hurts much though last week it took a lot of force to get the upper wire back in. My overbite is very minimal now. The assistants are always surprised I have only had them for 9 or 10 months when I go in ( I have had 3 different ladies last few visits). I have had finishing wires for about 2-3 months

I have had the same elastics configuration the last few months. Upper canine to lower molar. This is a great elastic set up because its not as visible and I can eat with them in.

Anyways that's about it, nothing exciting just the long middle part of the braces journey. I am still hoping for a braces miracle, my sentence is 18-30 months or 28-30 months there was 2 quotes so who knows. I would LOVE to know I am getting these things off at 18 months ( or 250 more days, not that I'm counting ) just in time for next summer. So I will keep hoping and if not then another year. Ugghhh who knows try not to think about it so I don't get too anxious and start hating these things again.

Hope everyones braces are progressing and seeing the results they want.

Take care

Elle

So they told you you'd be in finishing wires for approx 8 months? I was told I may be getting finishing wires in about 8 weeks and I'm curious as to how long they're generally on for.

abbaher- They (ortho) have not told me anything about when these babies would come off but my initial estimate was a very minimum of 18 months, but that 2.5 years was a common time for some adults. They also told me that I would need forsus springs and it sounds like I will NOT need them now. So who knows. ???? The not knowing is kind of annoying because I like to know so I have something to countdown to.

I have no idea how long I will be in finishing wires, I asked that question on the forum in the summer and it sounded like it could be months or years LOL, everyone is different. I think once those memory wires get you to a certain point then you get your finishing wires that the ortho can adjust. I would love to be out of braces at the 18 month mark but that's just a dream LOL. Not sure, I have a few things to still work on in there so I think it could be awhile. Just wish my upper wonky would get inline, I think it needs an upside down triangle elastic again to get it inline better. I had quite a gap in my lower "fang" and it is almost closed up now.

Jude63. Thanks Its getting there, I keep dreaming maybe if I think 18 months 18 months 18 months enough it will come true. And then when I get there and I have another year I can say 12 more months 12 more months LOL
