Hi folks,

Unbelievably, it's that time again for me to update my blog - how time flies! Today is my 5 month Invisalign anniversary. Woohoo! How did I mark the occasion? I hear you ask....well, I brought myself a new....toothbrush hahaha

I am now 3 days into tray 11 and everything is still going smoothly. I went back to the ortho on Tuesday evening and my ortho is very happy with how things are shaping up. He gave me a magnifying mirror (never flattering), to check out my teeth and compare them now to how they look in the clincheck at the very beginning. Although there's still a way to go, I can't believe how much my teeth have changed in just 5 months. Since tray 10, I am finding that the changes are actually becoming more visible now with the front teeth, which is mega exciting. It really is amazing how 2 pieces of plastic and a bunch of attachments can transform your smile :)

Just like tray 10, I had absolutely no problem removing these trays for the first time. They came out quickly and hardly any pain at all. I guess my teeth are getting used to the movements now. My "hidden" upper left lateral is now 90% visible now. I just can't wait for all my teeth to be in perfect alignment.

I am very close to the end for my lower teeth as I only have 5 trays to go and then i'll be wearing my last lower tray for approx another 14 weeks as i'll have another 7 trays to go for my uppers (16L, 23U). I'll be getting IPR done on my upper teeth only when I get my 15th, 16th and 17th trays fitted. So my first lot of IPR should happen towards the end of October. I won't stress about that too much until nearer the time (hopefully it's nothing to worry about though).

Oh and you'll never guess what I did the other day? While brushing my teeth in the toilets at work, I left my little blue invisalign case by the sink. When I realised that i'd left it, I went back to retrieve it but it was gone. I felt like a right doofus calling security and the cleaning department to see if anyone had handed in my retainer box. Sadly, it seems that someone has either thrown it away or taken it for themselves (although the latter option would be incredibly sad). However, I purchased 2 regular retainer boxes from amazon for less than £2 which were delivered today, and they do the job just as well as my previous Vizzie case.

Anyhoo....tray 12's go in on 28th August which is another 11 days.

I'll post some photo's in my next blog entry so you can see the changes.

Ciao

Glad things are still going well! I guess that tooth that was lower than the rest is still doing okay? I'm one week away from double digits - can't wait!! These past two trays have seemed incredibly loose, even after just a few days. Maybe my teeth are getting the idea of moving, too! :) Also, don't stress about the IPR! I've had it a few times now and it certainly isn't pleasant but it's nowhere near as bad as even having a filling done or something like that -- just kind of a weird sensation!

Love hearing about your progress! Cheers!

Hey amster! Thanks for stopping by...always appreciate your comments :)

How's your treatment going? Seeing many visible changes yet? Oohh not long at all 'til double digits for you. 2 weeks seem to pass even quicker once you've reached the double digit stage. Wow, just realised i am half way through tray 11 now! Roll on next tuesday, tray 12 here i come!*

My bottom tooth that i mentioned previously is still lower than the rest but I hope it'll return to normal once the lower teeth are done.

Thanks for the reassurance about the IPR. I'm glad to hear it's not a painful procedure. One question i do have though is did you find that after IPR your teeth felt loose at all? I've got a fear of loose teeth and worry that IPR could cause my teeth to be a little wobbly!

Hope tray 9 continues to be smooth sailing for you! :)

Nope, my teeth haven't been wobbly at all, at any stage. I meant to say earlier that my IPR involved both the drill and the manual "floss file" - that was the strangest. The drill just felt like the sensation of a filling, the flosser was definitely more strange - it felt like floss made out of sandpaper or something. But still, not terrible. I liked the IPR actually because that's when I could see the most concrete movements. After my second visit there were little gaps between four of my bottom teeth and they closed up almost completely within two trays. Fun to see the progress!! Check in with you later!
