Within these first few months have I have had so many little changes in my teeth! Even though some of them are somewhat undesirable at this point im glad to see evidence of movement after all of that pain i went through and food i missed out on eating the first week
The good change im seeing is that my front tooth is no longer on top of the tooth beside it, now they are opposite which matches the otherside now - Symmetry and crowding are the problems of my teeth, it was like my teeth had become stairs that you would walk up from right to left, if that makes any sense.
Along with the good there are some not so good changes.. I now have a gap between two of my teeth (as seen in my pictures). I've NEVER had gaps in my teeth, where did that space come from?! wow my ortho is GOOD Its very noticeable right now, but the good news is on June 8th when i go in i get the powerchains that will close up that gap.
Also, it seems like my smile has "widened" or maybe my teeth have just rotated to face forward more, i feel like i have a mouth full of teeth.
Strangely, it seems like my teeth have moved forward (as seen in pics), opening my bite, and i can feel it because its getting tough to talk.. Im hoping that they will not be staying like that.

Overall I am very happy with my orthodontist and his whole office. Not only does everyone seem confident, but they are all nice and informative and dont rush patients through their appointments. In no way is it an inconvenience to go to the ortho now. After my first adjustment a few days ago, i was officially sure that I made the right decision.

Sounds like you're having amazing early changes, which are motivating you heaps.

Keep communicating with your ortho as this is the person who can give you accurate information about the changes to be expected, or that have happened.

Here's to your progress continuing to go so well!

Wow it sounds like a lot of stuff is happening at once - that is great!

Emmie, you sound exactly like me almost a year ago. I had incredible changes in the first few months too! My front tooth was slightly overlapping the other, and within weeks it straightened out and a gap opened up in between. It wasn't huge, but big enough to put a business card in between (yes, I did that haha) It was really strange and a tad bit disturbing because I felt so goofy! I had a power chain placed on it at the next appointment and my gap closed before I even left the parking lot. Sore as heck, but super glad that gap was gone! I looked in the rearview mirror half the way home (I made it home safe )...that sucker was so tight, my poor little gums didn't know what to think!
I had upper crowding and high canines, so as the teeth were being brought down and into place, my teeth jutted out and felt like they were huge. I could never close my mouth completely without looking like a complete fool, and now I can close my mouth and still look pretty normal, so the past year of powerchains and elastics (little miraculous darlings!) and really helped out.
I had rapid changes the first 8 months or so, things have calmed down now....I'm in a boring stage of nothing going on....I can't wait to be done with them, but am so glad that I did this. Best decision ever!!!!
