Thought id write alittle update.... not that anything has changed
I still can't speak properly and im pretty sure nothing has moved. Although I am eating normal foods again, just avoiding chewy foods.

The teeth that my retainer is meant to be moving back havent moved at all yet. My dentist asked me if I have been turning my retainer but my ortho never told me too or gave me anything to turn it with... Im alittle worried now...

Anyway thats about it really.

    Hi Emma

    Your expander may not need a key, may of the ones used with adults work on a spring system which gently pushes the teeth so that they move within the jaw bone. It's important that things move very slowly with adults and expanders, as you don't want to risk the teeth being pushed out too far and there not being enough bone to hold them.

    Great you're able to eat the foods you prefer to and hopefully your speech will improve quickly. Practise talking and singing out loud is what we recommend to our young patients when they get expanders.
