I completely empathize with how you feel!! I had some pretty painful adjustments during my last 22 months. And I mean there were days when I had a migraine due to my teeth and jaw hurting so bad. This definitely hasn't been the easiest thing I've ever done!

Sorry to read that your last adustment is causing you grief. I recommend that you try to chew as often as possible, as chewing is one of the best ways to help with discomfort following an adjustment. Another option for chewing, is to chew a cold piece of cloth, like a face cloth.

Rinsing with warm salt water 5+ times a day is usually soothing for the mouth.

    Good luck with your progress!

I feel your pain even though I'm nowhere near your stage. What helped me was rubbing my gums and using a hot washcloth to put over my mouth. I was in your boat with the first 24 hours of spacers and my ortho called in a Tylenol 3 prescription. I was surprised at how well that worked. If nothing else helps, or you end up not being able to sleep all night like I was, definitely see if you can get a Tylenol 3 prescription. I only used a few, but they made a world of a difference. Good luck!
