    Hello friends,

The moment I have been waiting for has finally arrived: At 31 years of age, I am now the proud owner of a perfect smile! This isn't just any perfect smile, though...This is a Markham Centre Orthodontics (MCO) smile created by Dr. Tam, his skilled team, and their excellent ability to push the boundary with what can be achieved with Invisalign.

Most of my adult life, I have been very self conscious of my offensive smile; I likened my smile to what you would ...

    ..into refinement.

I just received my first 4 refinement trays out of a total of 13.

No attachments, which was very nice to hear.

This is day 2 of my first set, and so far 'status quo.'

The finish line is close! I'll keep you posted.

    Hello Friends,

I have arrived at tray set 32/32, which marks the end of my initial Invisalign treatment stage. It has taken me just shy of 15 months to complete the 32 sets, and the outcome makes all the lost weight, public embarrassment, uncomfortable group dinner events, and inability to randomly raid the fridge well worth it! Actually, it really hasn't been that hard at all.

Today, my 7 attachments were removed, my teeth were re-shaped and smoothed, a little pre-refinement ...

    Hey Friends,

    Short and sweet...

After 378 days of compliant Invisalign wear, 11 lost pounds, and a mild obsession with oral hygeine, someone at work commented on how great my teeth look.

    Cheers!

    Hey Friends,

I have just installed tray set 24/32. It took 23 complete trays to close the gap in my lower arch that was left behind after the extraction. As I look at it now, it's really hard to believe there was an additional tooth in there at one point.

As a side note, it's pretty gratifying to feel the dental floss "grab" when I slide it between those two incisors.

The 2 pics below illustrate the gap closure over the course of 23 ...

    Hey Friends,

Today marks a small milestone in my journey to a perfect smile. I am sitting here enjoying the gentle soreness and tight fit of tray set number 20!

I have only 12 sets to go before I graduate into the wonderful world of refinement. I guess it's time to start researching retainer options This treatment time really go by fast. I can faintly see the shimmering of the bright lights at the finish line.

I just returned from my Orthodontic checkup ...

    Hey friends,

I have let a few months go by without a post once again. Time really seems to be going by fast. I have made it successfully to tray set 17 of 32. That brings me to just over the half way point of my initial treatment.

My Invisalign experience has been moving along nicely without too much to report. I've had my second round of IPR and just today had a routine dental check up.

I was really looking fwd to the dental checkup just to confirm my ...

    Hello friends,

Once again, I have managed to let 10 weeks slide away without a blog post. Today, I find myself enjoying aligner set number 11, which also marks 1/3 of my pre-refinement stage complete!

Over the past 10 weeks, I have definitely noticed that the gap in my lower arch continues to close up with no signs of the teeth tipping. The two incisors are coming together nicely and remaining vertical. In the pics below, you can observe the gap reduction that has taken ...

    Hi Friends,

I'm a little overdue for an update. It's been several weeks, and I'm now on tray 6/32. I'm just starting to notice some changes in my teeth now. Nothing too drastic, but there has been progress.

The gap in my lower arch is starting to close up. It's hard to tell with the naked eye, but my tongue doesn't poke through as easily as it did after the extraction. Since having the attachments installed, I've also noticed that the 2 incisors that are moving over ...

    Hi Friends,

Today marked another milestone in my Invisalign adventure. I had 7 attachments installed and survived the infamous IPR experience!

I have 2 attachments on the upper arch on a canine and a premolar. The remaining 5 are on the lower arch on the incisors next to the extraction site and on the premolars.

The attachments procedure was pretty straight forward. First, the teeth were polished and cleaned to prepare the surface for the bonding material. ...

    Hi Friends,

I wasn't too sure if I wanted to post my pre-Invisalign pic without being able to immediately follow it up with the after-Invisalign pic....but then I figured, if I was going to be a respectable bolgger, I better do things right.

So here it is...'brace' yourselves! It's pretty ugly, but it can only get better!

I have survived my first set of alligners.

I decided to wear my first 2 sets for 3 weeks each, since my next appointment is scheduled for 6 weeks from my initial fitting. I figure more time with each alligner can't hurt.

My mouth is still in great shape. The lisp I had at the beginning only lasted a little more than a week, and it's essentially gone.

The alligners definitely pop off with ease now that I've had them on for 3 weeks. I honestly can't ...

I have completed day 1 with my new Invisalign alligners, and so far they're not causing me any problems at all. I had an incisor extracted yesterday as well to make room, and there is no pain associated with the site. Actually, the alligner masks the gap in my lower arch well.

I am aware that the alligners are in my mouth, they are tight but definitely not painful at all. My tongue and cheeks seem to be in good shape. I have noticed I have a slight lisp....hopefully that will fade ...
