Hey guys, so I think it's been almost two months now.
I've stopped looking at my teeth every day in the mirror, so I'm always nicely surprised when I do look in the mirror! My boyfriend says my teeth are pretty much straight already, but I definitely don't think I'm done just yet!! I can see a HUGE improvement, I just think my over bite is the biggest problem, I can't wait till it's fixed. I'm like really scared to have springs in my mouth though, and I can't remember if he said I'll wear them for six months, or I'll get them six months into my treatment.
Does anyone have springs? I think most people have elastics, I just wanna know what it's like to have the springs.
Anyways, I'm super happy with how it's all going! My Mom even wants to get braces now that she's seen mine and seen what they have done!

Fantastic that your treatment is going so well hanabee!

Springs are fine, although some people find they rub a little to begin with. If they do, get wax on them and keep yourself well hydrated. The better your hydration the less chance there is for your mouth to get irritated. Springs do great things that elastics could never do and they do things differently. I think about half our patients have a spring or three as part of there treatment. It may be to make a gap, close a gap, move a stubborn tooth ... and occasionally they're used on people who won't wear their elastics, but fortunately that's rare.

Good luck with your progress continuing!

Springs are no big deal. I had one across my four front teeth, and a friend of mine has one that is pulling a tooth forward. They don't hurt or anything like that. They aren't nearly as painful as spacers. In fact, you won't even know they are there after a week or so. Definitely don't stress about the springs! In my opinion, they were better than elastics
